Then explain the Brunell fiasco.

What fiasco?

Is Patrick Ramsey a starting QB? If not, then what should the Redskins have done until they developed a young QB, and re-trained the OL, and found an H-back plus three WR's, and built an entire defense?

I would guess that if the skins fizzle out this year and next, that Danny will not want Williams back. You have to change the metality if things are not working. If the skins can make the playoffs this year, and do something next year, I would say that Danny would probably promote Williams to head coach. I would be in favor of either situation. I would not be in favor of promoting Williams if the Skins don't make a push this year and next (more concerned about next).

I would really be the biggest fan of Gibbs signing on for another couple years.

We did it once. We hired Marty Shottenheimer. Unfortunately Snyder did not have the patience to see that experiment through. If Shottenheimer had stayed I think the Redskins would be a perennial playoff team by now (probably choking in the playoffs because of an overly-conservative offensive game plan, but in the playoffs nonetheless). He would have brought stability, discipline, and a winning record, and he would have accomplished it in a shorter time than Joe Gibbs. We did Marty a great injustice.

And Petibon, as well. How much better was Norv Turner? Did Ron Lynn improve the Petibon defense? Turner complained about the cap...wasn't that the same cap that Petibon worked under?

I totally disagree with those who say Pettibone and Marty didn't get a fair chance.

- I LOVED Pettibone as Joe's D coordinator and was THRILLED when he took over for Joe thinking that Joe ran the O and he rand the D and now we just needed to turn it around. But I just felt after a year he wasn't the head guy. I'd have loved him to stay as D coordinator (I know that wasn't going to happen). But there are times when it's clear after one year a guy just isn't right for the job.

- Marty was a complete horses rear. I hated the guy. I'm SO glad we fired him.

On the other hand, Norv, who was another great coordinator horrible head guy was given way TOO much chance.

What about Saunders as Head coach. I haven't heard his name mentioned.

On the sad day Gibbs returns to retirement, there are two approaches. Promote from within and go outside. If you go with the first option it's hard to see why we would pick Saunders over Williams. Then again, in the end it only matters what Danny thinks though.

IMO. Gibbs will finish out his contract and not want to return as HC, with or without a Superbowl. I would personally love to see Cowher as HC, I think he did very well evey year with the talent he had.

Maybe so, but he had the team going in the right direction, and we took a step back when he was fired. He had gotten the rampant fantasy football mentality under control, and the only reason the Danny fired him was because he wouldn't take orders. In the long run it worked out, though, because Joe was forced out of retirement to save the franchise. :D
