there's an article there that's headlined: Taylor voted posthumously to Pro Bowl.
Actually, he's been leading the balloting from the start. He was way ahead when he was murdered, so it's not like he got some sympathy vote. Just needed to vent and set the record straight.

Portis is third in rushing yards in the conference despite running behind a patchwork line all season, as well as playing in at least two games (Dallas, NE) where the running game was all but abandoned.
His 8 TDs are also good for 4th place on the NFC rushing TD list, and 9th place across all offensive positions in the conference on the total TD list.
He is also one of the top 2 or 3 blocking halfbacks in the NFL, he plays hurt and with undeniable passion for the game, and he never gives less than 100% on any play.
For Barber to make the ProBowl ahead of Portis is a true travesty and is a result of every yahoo in TX (and Joe Buck) submitting multiple online ballots. We'll never see a truly merit-based Pro Bowl roster until the value of the fan vote is minimized.

As of 11/27/07, I resolve to never again read any version of the Washington Post.
Portis didn't have a Pro Bowl year, period. Brian Westbrook, on the other hand, did. I was disappointed to see that Fred Taylor didn't make the AFC squad.

I think Westbrook is deserving of a Pro Bowl roster spot as well. Do you think Barber deserved the fourth HB spot over Portis? If so, why?

I don't see how you can make a Pro Bowl without averaging four yards a carry. Barber didn't really have an All-Pro season either, but he did have more touchdowns, a better yards per carry, more receptions, more receiving yards, and more receiving touchdowns, and fewer fumbles. And he was on the best team in the NFC. To be honest, only Peterson and Westbrook earned trips to Hawaii.
No worries guys - this is not that important - I think it was last year, when they did not put Brady on the roster - this is a TV thing - the Pro Bowl "award" is like winning at fantasy football
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
What i dont understand is - Players complain when they dont get selected but when they do get selected alot of them dont even show up due to injuries ( both real and made up) or they just say they dont wanna participate.

Well they don't want to risk injury to play in a meaningless game, but being elected is not only an honor, but they can use that in contract negotiations or to fulfill quotas agreed to in there current contracts. So it is very important to them in dollars and cents.

Yea i quess i didnt look at it that way, i know they dont argue with the extra money they get for being voted to the pro bowl but i didnt know that they had stipulations in contracts regarding a fan based vote. Learn something new everyday.
