Not sure if anyone heard ESPN insider John Clayton on the radio Saturday afternoon, but he said that "The Washington Redskins are not going to trade Chris Samuels."

He also said that the San Diego Chargers and other teams in enviable places at the beggining of round one are floating ideas out in order to push the hands of interested teams that aren't certain they want to move up. He said that Daniel M. Snyder's conversation with Chargers GM A.J. Smith was simply a football chat to keep all doors open for the future, and had little to do with disscussing next Saturday's draft.

Thought I might pass that a long in case anyone didn't hear it...

As Yogi said, "It ain;t over til its over". Let's assume that all of this flying around, interviewing, making coo-ing noises about player X and player Y, is just like a Gibbs offensive play: maks the play by changing formation two or five times, then send a guy in motion, stops, send another guy in motion the other direction, and then runs his play.

We'll know it when we see them do it.

All this talk just makes next saturday more fun. Just wish we had more picks just to see what the Skins would do with them.

Mel Kiper shot this rumor down again today on ESPN Radio saying

"Trading Samuels and the #5 to pick Gallery is a lateral move and know benifit to the Redskins...It Dosent Fit A NEED".
He went on to talk about his source also told him that Sean Taylor will be the Redskins pick with the #5

His sidekick in the booth (I cant remember his name) hinted thruout the seagment that Vinny C had to be the source because Vinny and Mel have been close since Vinny worked at ESPN
