I'm making this early and leaving it unlocked just incase I'm not around or another MOD isn't around to make/unlock it. Please keep all discussion in the gameday thread until the game is over. Once the game is over be aware that the thread will be locked without notice. It'd be smart to just posting here so that any conversation won't be interrupted.

Here is a link to the Vent thread. This thread is for you to curse whomever needs to be cursed. It's for you to vent frustration, ta;l smack and do anything else that is not allowed in this PG forum.

great win. Portis was the workhorse and collins did a great job managing the game. The D stepped up and A Carter is over 10 sacks now. 2 more and we're in!!!

Several things I noted about tonight's game:

1. Landry is progressing quite nicely in his first season (better than I thought he would)
2. Doughty is filling in admirably
3. Heyer is better than people think (outside this Skins organization); he pretty much shut-down the Giants pass rush
4. Portis is nasty (reconfirmed) as a blocking back, and a RB
5. Torrence is terrible; he could have blown this game by himself, and I think any WR that matches up with him will have an easy day catching balls, as Landry gets to the guy Torrence is covering before Torrence does...
6. I think it shows that Gibbs trusts Collins more than Campbell (shown by passing the ball more with the lead, even though the Skins were running the ball well

Andre Carter has Officially 10.5 sacks of the season!!!!!!!!

Post by por-tiz2skins »

I mean man this guy gets doubled team and had 2 sacks today with a FF.He has been our DL play maker and this is just by one man imagine when we get a guy like Vernon Goldston-Quntin Grove-Hayer-OR Tye Jackson on the other side.

His stats right now(with 2 games left now) are.

48 tackles
2PD
10.5 sacks(1 for a safety)
and 4 FF

Now does are pro-bowl stats and has 2 games left where he can get one more to make it 11 sacks total. But I got a good feeling for next year cause this guy has been good.

Should be a 90 overall on madden with Fitness (play making ability) and should deserve a SIG .I mean Come on he has made big plays.

I love to beat the Giants BUT it is even better to get a win that we did not deserve - let's face it, we did not win this game by playing better - the Giants were hopeless - this is a lot more gratifying - I hate the Giants.

We have a bunch of guys on offense and defense tonight that refused to lose - how great is this? very satisfying

Collins can play for this team for the rest of this year BUT he is hopeless
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

What? This game had terrible weather conditions. The ball was moving all over the place and you say we didn't deserve the win. The only stupid play we made today was the PF on Landry for the slash remark to Burress after the big hit. Outside that, we played about as well as we could tonight. I think the only thing that we could have done better is get more plays in the endzone but I'm not greedy. Good job skins. Great divisional win. Helps us against the saints record.

We all should pull for the Bears tomorrow.

The Giants bad play was imposed on them by our defense, Smoot played great as did the whole defense. With the exception of the bone headed taunting Landry did, I give our defense an A, especially playing as thin as we are on defense right now.

This team has a big heart, skins still alive for the play-offs, pukes lose, all is good in the world

We earned every inch of this win. All 3 phases. To me Reed is still a liability, so is Torrence, and God forbid we ever see Eubanks again. But give credit to the Defense as a whole especially SMOOT, O-line especially Heyer and Samuels! Portis and Betts and TODD he did what he had to do, and those long ones to Moss we're PRETTY. Todd no turnovers! Landry- your just a puppy but you've got a mean bark, LaCanforna called him "OverAgressive" Thank God you are agressive LL without you our secondary would be getting used and abused. H.B. Blades!!! I SEE YOU SHINNING!!! My heart was in my throat right down to the last tick of that clock, did anyone notice how much pass interference the gmen we're committing and yet no flags for us, I saw moss get clobberd waiting on a pass, but hey a win like this I'm gonna cherish in a season that has brought soo much pain, tonight I feel proud of my team. Everyone of em' they earned it.

Just got home from Giants Stadium.

What a great game by the Redskins! What horrible weather: before the game, the right-side goalpost ribbons (as seen from the TV side) were blowing out horizontally while the opposite goal post (leads to the locker rooms) was drooping. At mid-field, the color-guard had to furl the flags which were almost blowing off the poles...at a 90 degree angle to the goal-post indicating flags.

Amazing wind.

Through most of the 1st Q it was raining and splattering ice pellets.

- good job by the coaches to prepare the team through all that

- gritty play to get the first two FG's. Somehow, I knew after the first that the Redskins would win

- so much wind that it's hard to blame Manning for many of the misses...the ball just took off in strange directions.

- Collins doesn't have the arm to over-power that kind of wind, but I remember Jay Schroeder being stymied by the same wind. Collins played smart, threw smart.

- Collins might have run a few times for good yardage...if he was Jason Campbell. Clearly not a running QB, not a scrambler, but he seemed to know when to dump a pass just before getting hit.

- Portis is a delight to watch. I mean it's just plain fun to see him get a little room and speed up, slow down, weave around defenders, and then burst when he sees an opening. Betts is smooth and smart, but Portis is able to do things that Betts can't

- Thinking about how the Redskins need a tall receiver, I can see why they do not need Burress. PB catches passes that others wouldn't get because he is tall and has talent, but he often doesn't try hard. Example: ball thrown slightly off-target -- a 50/50 ball -- and Smoot (I think) dives and nearly intercepts it. Burress was closer, when the ball was thrown, but just stood. Happened again and again.

- So there are big receivers, and then there are big receivers who are real football players. Maybe the second is rare...that's Art Monk, the future Hall of Famer (ahem!)

- Redskins clearly were the better team.

- Amusing to watch Marcus Washington pick up the Giant fans' hand-clapping, and turn it into a motivator for the defense. A classy player.

- Must have been awful to wait for the TV commercials, trying to keep warm on the field.

- Smoot is special. Watching him cover tight, watching him scramblle for every ball and hit big guys like Jacobs, it's clear that Smoot is special.

- Giants dropped an amazing number of dead-on passes. That helped. I didn't see a Redskin drop a catchable pass...closest was a pass to Cooley that was ripped away from him by a defender who hit him from behind before he had a chance to pull the ball to his chest.

- The Giants pass rush is very good. Wish the Redskins had it...the defense would be unbeatable.

- Thinking about it, I think Manning had an unusual number of passes batted down or into the air. Someone with a statistical taste might look it up, but it seemed that way.

- Surprising that many Giant "fans" left at half-time after booing their team. Many others left at the end of the third Q.

- When the Redskins defense had taken the ball back for the last time, had moved near the 40 yard line. There a real Giant fan welcomed us to "his" section, saying he was the only regular at the game. He apologized for the behavior of "the idiots" and "the rookies", as he called them, who had thrown snowballs at Redskin fans and picked fights. Changed my opinion of Giant fans, which had placed them somewhere with Eagles and Philadelphia Flyer fans. This fellow has been a season ticket holder since 1975, he said. A real fan.

Personally...it was a wonderful Christmas present to an old dad...

I'm giving Collins a pass on this one because of the wind. Nobody could throw last night and no one could catch.

What really worries me is that our D looked terrible against the ground game by the forth quarter. What will Peterson do to us? If we can't figure out how to plug a few holes we'll be in trouble. Daniels made 1 tackle. Who was playing beside him. Did we get a tackle from any tackle other than Montgomery?, who was a beast. He and Carter wreaked havoc but no one else on the DL showed up.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Gints could open such huge holes in the second half. Somebody help me.i

I think he defense was playing more for the pass, although I wondered (and grumbled) approximately the same thing. The wind slowed a bit -- onkly a bit -- for much of the second half, and Manning was more accurate than, say, in the first quarter. By my count, Eli M only completed one pass in Q1, and Collins didn't complete a pass.

Otherwise, there were some gruesome holes for Jacobs.

Great, great win.

Getting a win in The Meadowlands in December to keep our playoff hopes alive is definitely the highlight of this season so far.

I just can't believe that Giants team came into last night 9-4.... they are terrible. Eli Manning is in the bottom 6-8 starting QBs in the league, and that's really saying something given the state of QBs in the NFL right now. He is awful. And Tom Coughlin has to be one of the worst head coaches in the NFL. I don't know how this team keeps making the playoffs???

Anyways, it feels good to be fighting for a playoff spot this late in the season.

It looks like we get in with:

Win @ MIN
Win vs. DAL

AND

NYG Loss @ BUF AND vs. NE

OR

NO Loss vs. PHI OR @ CHI

I think we could also get in if we beat Minnesota and lost to Dallas and got help... as in if Minnesota and New Orleans both lost out.... I think we'd get in at 8-8 by virtue of holding tiebreakers over the Vikings, Cardinals and Lions.

But if we lose to Minnesota it is officially all over so let's take this one week at a time.

Either way I'm glad to be talking like this after all this team has been through this season...

Hail to the Redskins.

1. Agree but think he is DROY... except for those dumb penalties he makes
2. Agreed
3. He had help tonite... LA was in alot... CS should have played a little better I think.
4. The best TOTAL RB, Betts did better today as well
5. He is terrible, hope he can improve
6. Might be right, but Collins has little cannon compared to JC, oh and JC has only 15 games, Collins has played since '97

The NYG dropped alot of balls and I almost felt sorry for EM. Good win!

Great win by the 'skins in adverse conditions on the road. Solid effort by everyone, and for once I have no gripes about the coaching!
