Leave mudslinging out of it

Post by Skinsfan55 »

I am tired of reading about RIDICULOUS posts about Kellen Winslow being some kind of negative team influence! He has an excellent attitude towards the game and towards his coaches. He is very respectful and bright and will do whatever it takes to be a great player.

Leave these stupid smear posts off the boards, they are unfounded and idiotic. No one knows what's going to happen before the draft and teams purposely throw out a ton of mixed signals in the weeks leading up to it. Kellen Winslow showed up out of shape and late to a meeting? Guess what kids? It's just a smoke screen, or is it? No one knows!

So, since no one can know 100% about character why don't you stick to what you CAN see, talent. Argue about which player is more talented, but bringing character attacks into it is lame, and stupid.

i don't know where people are getting the info about him saying all the bad team influence he will have.seems this off season we have someone else whos filling in to that roll already LAVAR. there seems to be no complaints about him being a redskin.and as far as talent i watched him play for a few years and he has the talent.i still think trading down and d- line is the answer,he's not the only talented TE in the draft.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

Geez Skinsfan how do you know he doesnt have a bad attitude? Every thing i have read about the man 9i mean EVERYTHING) has at least made some mention of his lack of maturity and rude conduct. Apperently he was late for the meeting with the coaching staff and didnt impress anyone with the interview itself either. Not to mention the thing about he and his father picking the postons after the front office listed him last on the short agent list they filled out.

I've played against winslow in a number of occasions. I don't care if it was just high school. he hasn't changed a damn thing. he's cocky as a winner, and the biggest whiner as a loser. I've met him at parties and seen him on the field. and it's the same attitude that we all saw on espn when he went on his rant that i remember from back when he lived in san diego. my attitude toward this guy has merit. I've played against him in high school, in air-it-out tournaments, and even talked to him off the field at parties. and i really think that he's not a "in the long run" kind of player. he'll be good...very good. one of the best. but that will just make him cockier and more demanding. not someone i want on my team

Wow Jeremy that is definitely insider info! I say leave him then. Talent or no talent, last thing we need is another player all about themselves!

I think everyone here saw Mr. Bigbabby on ESPN crying like a spoiled little girl.

Where was he at the combines?

No wonder he picked the Postons... they love to stroke ego's and boy does he have one.

It is a shame since he is one of the biggest talents in the draft.

The world might be small after all, in that two people on this thread have ties with K2. Jeremy's are obviouslly better to go by, as he has dealt with him man-to-man.

We are friends with a family in San Diego, whose daughter has dated Winslow for the past several years. They started dating after the two graduated, and before he opted to go to Miami. The last I heard they were still dating, and the parents of his girlfriend speak great about him. They say he's a classy guy, standup citizen, and terriffic role model. Until I ever meet him that's what I'll go by.

However Skinsfan55, I'm not sure why you find it sooo hard to grasp why some find it easy to dislike the youngster. We live in a society where opinions are basically minipulated by the media. For example, if I were to poll my fellow hogs on this fine establishment of a site, I'd say 85-90% would tell me that Barry Bonds is a jerk. However, maybe 5-10% if that have ever had brush-ins with Bonds, and who is to say that all, if any were negative.

When you hear that he is late, or see him cursing out a reporter and refusing to apologize for what seemed to be a dirty hit on a player whom was injured on a controversial play, it's easy to say that he's a punk. Is he? Maybe, maybe not. When he flipped out in the locker room "Ryan Leaf style" with an ESPN camera right in front of his face, it changed the way some people thought of him.

For me personally, I'll wait until I actually see what he is like, rather than letting a reporter or camera tell me.
