KEEP OUR PICK!

Post by hood »

Trading our fifth selection to pick up Gallery would be a huge mistake. We need to keep our pick and use it on Sean Taylor. With the scheme that Greg Williams runs we really don't need to pick up a DL in the draft. We have enough beef on the d-line to stuff the run. And with the linebackers we have we should pick up plenty of sacks. Sean Taylor is the type of player that can change the complexion of a game. With the hits he will dish out recievers will be trembling when it comes time to go across the middle. And he has great hands.

Leep the pick

Post by Redskin in Canada »

I agree fully. I also want us to get Taylor.

But it might not happen because Joe is too close to KW Senior and KW is not a bad option either.

My choice? Sean Taylor without a doubt but KW Jr is not a mistake, growing pains notwithstanding ...

or just pick the best player in the draft -- Taylor. it's like Portland drafting Sam Bowie over Jordan because they already had Clyde Drexler and needed a center. except our safeties aren't as good Drexler and Taylor would be an immediate starter.

I think drafting Taylor would change the aspect of the defense and how offenses plan against the Skin defense. Does anyone remember how Lott and Atwater changed there defenses. I remember many receivers scred on crossing the middle cause they knew that they would be nailed by Lott or Atwater. The defense can do so many different schemes with a player like Taylor. They could use a 4-2-5 defense with Taylor as a LB/Rover for one example. Also Taylor will neutralize the TE in the NFC East. Taylor is the best pick for the Skins.

I remember Atwater getting burned in a certain superbowl because they had NO pass-rush against the HOGS and Rypian had all day. We need Udeze, an everydown DE that can get to the QB and stop the run. Without time in the pocket I could play safety.

And to you Whomp-um. Remember every year when the Bullets-Wizards had some talented teams but no Center and every year we would draft another guard or forward just because we thought they were the best player available? How did that work out?

If you feel the need fill the need!!

I've been on the side of getting Udeze for awhile now. However, I've woke up this morning (maybe it was all the beer) with a change of mind.

Let's look at this as a more than one year fix. If it is, we can get a good DE in the draft next year, or more depth on offensive line, or even a safety.

But this year will (hopefully) be as high as we draft in awhile. That being said, let's take a shot at having one of the two difference makers on the board. Kellen Winslow, or Sean Taylor. Either one will change the way our offense or defense playes.

We can get whatever else we need next year. But we won't have a shot at maybe the best player in the draft again. As much as I like Udeze, Taylor or Winslow is the clear choice.
