how long do you think it's going to be before we hear from TRO about the other QB on our roster and his chances against the last 3 teams on our schedule? :twisted:

going to be a fun couple of days - Gibbs will likely defuse this brewing controversy early but we know how much he loves you know who and Collins is Saunders QB not Gibbs :wink:

We do! And TC has a chance to clinch the job now of BACKUP over the rest of the season. We have to get rid of Brunell or him and get a project as #3 and now they can settle it on the field. I would still totally rather have had JC use whatever time JC will miss, but since that's out of our control at least we can finally resolve the #2 job properly.

There's no controversy. As JH can attest, I am firmly planted on the Todd Collins bandwagon after last night. From the moment he took the field, I knew that my guarantee of a win would come true.

So, again, no controversy, but there IS an interesting twist...

One bad hit, one terrible quarter(or half) by Collins, and we're back to the "Ocho" under center.

...and there ain't nuthin' y'all can do about it. :rock:

I got tickets to last night’s game at the last second. I was the fourth guy in a group that included a Bear, Cowturd, and a Faider fan.

I said after the game that if Collins wins these next few games there will be a QB controversy among the fans. They all said "No one is that stupid! It won't happen Campbell is definitely your starter." I guess they were wrong!

Someone said that we should tailor an offense to JC's tendency to throw the ball late (waits for the WR to look at him). I have never seen an offense in the NFL were you can let the WR turn around, look at the QB, and then have to wait for the ball. NFL secondaries are just too fast.

No you don't change the offense for that reason. Campbell just has to learn how to trust his receivers and the system. Once he gets to the point were he is no longer waiting for the player to get open and just throws the ball when and where it should be thrown he will be a beast. A little touch on his passes wouldn't hurt either.

He should look at Collins' game tape, because Collins made some throws that Campbell wouldn't have made. Talent wise there is no comparison between Campbell and Collins, but Collins (at least for one night) has much better touch and timing to his passes.

Hey guys.

I think TC makes better and quicker reads. JC is still my fav QB. JC has the better skills and bigger arm.

TC has been the guy doing all the studying while JC has been on the field. TC watching and thinking "He should have thrown the ball here, or there."

TC has better knowledge of the system. He made the perfect reads on the TD passes.

The Pass to Yoder, the bears only had one safety back, and Yoder had position, and no one else to beat.

On the pass to Betts, the bears blitzed the LBs and there was no one to tackle Betts.

Both of these were all about TC's ability to read the D.

I think this is a great chance for JC to learn some of these things. I'm not sure JC thinks more about where he wants to go, than he thinks about where he should go with the ball.

Campbell = Starter/future
Collins=Backup/teacher

Campbell is the future. It has been said somewhere that, Collins had more time than JC.

IMO, I think this could be in part because the bears didn't have film on him. I seemed the bears played more conservatively after TC stepped in. I say because they didn't know what to expect. Plus, the screens seem to be there all night long, which just made the bears back off more.

Plus take into consideration...
JC has his things he tries to do. TC had been watching this and sees the things the bears are doing plus, he was seeing what JC was missing. All, of which is great knowledge to have when coming in off the bench.

It's hard for a person to change their habits, and when TC sees these things he knows what he should do.

It could be a different story with him being the starter, because its much harder to evaluate yourself. IMO.

Collins looked great last night, I was really impressed.
First thing I thought (obviously) was: QB CONTROVERSY! XD
With Todd under center everything meshed real well.

There is no QB controversy and there won't be one - Collins is it for the rest of the season and then in 2008 it will be Campbell and 2 others who are not on our roster right now. An experienced back-up IMO and hopefully the next real deal :lol:

Collins will not be here next year even if he wins the Super Bowl :shock:

- he is just not good enough to be our starting QB

That's just ridiculous. If he won the SB for us, why would we not keep him as a backup to JC?

You see JSPB, when a player literally performs beyond our, his or anyone else's wildest expectations at an almost insanely cheap rate, you immediately cut him to keep him humble.

Collins looked better at throwing touch passes like Trent Green did in the saunders offense. Jason throws strikes....which affect timing
