Taylor Towels

Post by chiefhog44 »

My wife is from Pittsburgh and every time we visit her family, we always go to a game. I always wear my Riggins jersey and it gets much respect. But the point of this is that I'm always blown away with the terrible towels. The towels are so demoralizing to the opposing team when they are waving during a defensive stand and often causes a sense of panic in the stadium. It's a state of pandamonium that can't be described. I could go into the history of their existance with the Steelers announcer Myron Cope inventing and mass marketing them but I won't. There's a history behind them and to this day they sell like hot cakes.

I've always wondered how I could bring this idea to Washington. I even went out and got quotes on making these towels, and selling them at the games. Then I ran into the problem of NFL licencing rights, the difficulty of pulling this off because I live in Chicago, not to mention what to name them (I was worried about the cheese factor).

Now WE truely have an opportunity to have ST's legacy remembered. At the game, they are handing out towels with a number 21 painted on each one. And there's no better name than the Taylor Towel (I'm not sure if that's what they're using, I just came up with that). We wave them on defense, we wave them when we score, we wave them any time we need help from the big man. Hopefully they start selling them so others not at the game can have their own. This could be a start of somthing big! The Taylor Towel, I love it. Spread the word!!!!

Absolutely, not to make money. Actually the team should try and sell them for a profit and donate the proceeds to the memorial fund. Snyder is doing a heck of a job during all this by the way. This would be another idea fo him to help ST's daughter.
