Do you mean Gary Clark or Ricky Sanders? Or a combination of both? How about Ricky Clark?
The safety I believe you refer to is Mark Murphy.

Glad to see you had Mike Nelms down as your returner. Good though Mitchell is, anyone who saw Mike Nelms return kicks would take him ahead of anyone.

Most of the players mentioned are from the more recent teams. There are a lot of very solid Redskins from earlier eras as well. I'm surprised no one even mentioned Bobby Mitchell. Couple of other names Jerry Smith (TE, retired with the most catches for a TE in NFL history), Len Hauss C, linebackers Chris Hanburger, Jack Pardee, Mo Pottios; Corners Pat Fischer and Mike Bass; Safeties Ken Houston and Paul Krause (no Washingtion safeties before or after are even in the same league as these two) and Richie Pettibon.

And I wonder how Charlie Harraway would have faired as and H back?

How one could make an all-time Redskin team and not include Redskins that are in the HOF is beyond me.

I can see how some can argue Jurgenson over Baugh at QB, but if that's the person's decision, at least include Baugh as the punter.

I've seen no mention yet of Bobby Mitchell or Cliff Battles amongst others and I would argue that Paul Krause was more of a Viking than a Redskin.

I love Neal, but Sam is a HOF.

Baugh was great, but it was a different era. The "pure" quaterback of today did not yet exist. Sammy was a cross between a running back and a quarterback, hence my pick of Jurgensen. He is a HOF'er too! And not only that, but I was Sonny's paperboy! I delivered the Washington Post to him back in the days when they had paperboys. Can you imagine my eyes when I knocked on the door to collect each month??!

genuswine hoglover has a team I would pick, except for QB. Sonny was the best passer in recent history, but Sammy Baugh invented the position: the greatest all-time QB. Before Baugh, a passer -- who was usually a single-wing tailback -- would flop and float a ball. Slingin Sammy perfected the bullet pass.

**

Don't forget:

- Gen Brito, all-pro defensive end from the '50's, or

- Mean John Paluck, DE, from the late '50s and early '60s.

- Or Joe Rutgens, DT from the '60s.

(Mark Murphy might be the safety people tried to remember from SB17. Good, but not equal to Kenny Houston or Paul Krause.)

I'm very, bery happy to see #81 included on most of the modern-day lists. It gives me great pleasure that he's not been forgotten, and a little hope that there's a new "Art Gallery" out there to help to get him the Hall where he belongs.
Thumbs up, boys. Thumbs up. You made an old man happy.
