An Official Banning of a Skins nickname

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Do you agree with me that "P-Ram" needs to be discared into the bowels of the universe forever?

An Official Banning of a Skins nickname

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

I know he has a bad name for nick naming, but P-Ram? Im sorry guys, that just screams "Hey I dont have a thing to work with". Lets just call him Ramsey. Lol. Maybe if he starts, he'll do something unique for us to give him a suitable name.

Alright. Sorry. Looked like you were one of those people who thought it was Ramsey, not his agent, complaining and wanting to get rid of him.

Ramsey is being polite, his agent is the one throwing a fit.

I'm not a fan of the nickname either man - I'm a big fan of Ramsey and think he'll win the job over Brunell. I'd go with "The Great", "Ram Tough", just plain "Ram" would do fine for me. I won't use P-Ram - ever. Sounds like a painful procedure by the urologist.

I agree. Might not be for the same reasons... I just don't feel like writing "Patrick", "Ramsey", or "Patrick Ramsey" so sometimes I just go with P-Ram.

P-Ram is a terrible nickname. It's not even original. Do we really want our franchise quarterback in the same group as J-Lo?

That is y'alls opinion. I just use it to save time. I use a lot of initials and such for just that reason.

If someone wants to associate it with something other than that, well, I guess that's on them. ;)

Or, for a WR from a few years back whose luck took a turn for the worse, "A-Con".
Ummm, which he currently, actually is.
Seriously. This is a trendy thing, the shortening of a name to something easier to remember.
I've seen entirely too many trends come and go to really care about it.
Personal choice, IMHO.

Yeah, no. I think everybody can see where you might get sick of hearing it, or reading it, as the case may be.
At any rate, a new topic to chew on, and a kind of a distraction from the usual threads- a distinction befitting a man who's been here at Hogs.net longer than most of us.
Keep 'em coming.

i call him "Patty Cakes", why? I have no sensible reason....

But there's nothing like screaming from the upper deck....

"PATTY CAKES! PATTY CAKES! COLES IS YOUR MAN.....THROW HIM THE BALL AS FAST AS YOU CAN!"

I call him "J. Patrick". It's not short to type, but I call him that for the same reason Spurrier called him that...for no reason at all.

I guess I could call him P-Rama Lama Bing Bong... but that would defeat the purpose of saving time now wouldn't it?

To each their own... :)

I suppose we could pass a resolution on here to make Pi = 9 instead of 3.1416 because it goes against someone's grain, but then again, it would be just as silly and no one who wanted to call it 3.1416 would pay attention. ::grin::

How about just "Patrick", or are we not really on a first name basis with P-RAM.

...Don't let the name of "The Great" escape your lips or fire will consume you for muttering the name that you aren't worthy of saying... Call him "The QB" or P-Ram...

Ok, so there are those who don't like PRam... but honestly, is there a reason to beef about it? It isn't meant as disrespect to him, it isn't meant to do anything more than save time for someone who posts a lot. So, explain to me why someone like myself who uses it should stop using it just because it twigs someone else, especially when it isn't PRam himself :)

Just philosophically curious... this kinda smacks of PC censorship - "I don't like that so you can't use it"...

I would understand the position more if it was meant as a derogatory remark, but it is meant fondly and just to save time...
