They're only bet is to win. And keep winning. Let the cards fall as they may. Unfortunately, they don't have the luxury of being in control of their destiny except to beat teams and hope others lose. A win in Green bay and at home against Phillie, both games they had in the basket, and we'd be talking a totally different game. Cest la vie.

Actually, as of right now, the Redskins do control their own destiny. If we win out, we would make the playoffs. We hold tiebreakers over the Lions and Cardinals, and in the event the Redskins and Eagles both won out, we would have that tiebreaker as well. The teams split the head-to-head, would have the same record in the division (3-3), the same record against common opponents (10-2) but the Redskins would have the better conference record at 8-4 compared to the Eagles' 7-5.
Yay NFC!

They need to win and not worry about the rest. Unfortunately this team gave three games away (Giants, Packers & Eagles) so there is no luxery or margin for error.

I agree. They need to focus on each opponent each week and figure out a way to get this offense moving the ball and scoring. The Dallas game was a preview of what this offense could actually be minus the run game. But with this type of offense, the run game will come because a team can't focus on everything every play. So if we are burning them with the pass, that will make them softer on the run and it's just a matter of calling run plays that take advantage of Portis' strengths. IMO, it's running on the edges (sweeps) or off tackle.... The heavy stuff in the middle is not where he is most effective. If the O-Line can get off on their blocks and he can get past the first layer (D-Line), he is good enough to make something out that....

The playoffs are certainly in reach, but we'll need to earn that spot with wins. The Cards have by FAR the easiest schedule, and in the best position to challenge for the wild card spot. They are likely to be 6-5 after Sunday, and win at least 3 out of the last 5.
We, on the other hand have one of the toughest schedules of the potential wild card teams with TB, Buf, Chi of which we need to win all three, then we finish with NYG, Min, Dallas.
If we win all 6, we're in. If we win 5 of six, we are likely in. If we don't win Sunday, we'll need help to get in.
The Lions aren't going to make it. I see them losing at least 2 of the remaining 5 games or worse, so they're out, as I see it.
This is gonna come down to either us or the cards.

We need to win this game, this week
Then, next week, we need to win that game
IF we keep doing that each week, we will have ourselves a berth in the Super Bowl
now, how hard is that?
just win this game, that's all you have to do

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
