Was that a cowardly call? Or a courageous demonstration of faith in his defense?

So how'd it work out for 'em?

Never mind... I already know you want him tossed under the bus.

i'm not too upset with this loss. sure, it sucks, but the skins have shown me they are only a few tweaks away from being a contender for the nfc crown. i'm sure the cowboys are feeling a little lucky right now. they should have lost. though we lost today, i think this could be the beginning of a tipping point.

Ummm... Joe DID let him... and he damn near won, without a lot of help from the D. What game were you watching?

Curious. I seemed to be watching the same game as CT. Campbell is getting there. He should hold his head up. He's already better than Mark Rypien was at this stage, and Rypien had the best OL in football, the three best WR's, and a clutch of good RB's. Also worked with a defense that didn't need to blitz to pressure the QB.

Just look at the throws. Campbell is good.

Excellent game plan. Excellent game play by Jason. Much to be optimistic about... he is really coming in, and is almost at the point where he can put the team on his back...

If Joe would let him . . .

I was watching an NFL game, where the rules are written for the offense. How'd relying on the D do for the Bears in the Super Bowl? How are the Bears and the Ravens doing now? They rely on the D, right? This isn't golf - low score doesn't win.

As for the 'skins D, they held a top 5 offense to less than their average (almost 33 points) despite being out two starters in the secondary. Not a great performance, but not a collapse, either.

I doubt that the half-empty, sky is falling crowd will agree, but that's what I'm thinking, as well. The O has to feel pretty good... and the d (wich has a lot of pride) will kick themselves in the butt, and get it in gear...

Skins committed some big errors on D letting TO get open, but you have to say that everyone on this time played with a lot of heart. They know they were close, but I don't think you can say that they didn't play their hearts out the whole game. ARE says he shold have given JC the block cue so that he would have blocked and JC could have run the ball instead of giving up the INT at the end.

A list of reasons why the Skins lost:

Inability of our O to finish drives

Leaving TO uncovered

Not going for it on 4th and 1 twice

Leaving TO uncovered

GW insisting on staying with cover 2 even though it wasn't working

Did I mention leaving TO uncovered?

So????

Does that suggest, maybe, that the defense has to gamble? And that eventually a gamble will lose?

You know what, I am very proud of our team. Yes, we lost and yes, we probably should have won that game, but J Cam looked good. It's like we all said at the begining of the year, we are going to have to live with his maturation as a QB. He has looked really good the pst 2 games, it really shouldn't have come down to him throwing that INT at the end of the game. Our D sans # 21 is horrendous in the middle of the field. It was our D that let us down, not our Offense. If our D would've been fired up for the entire game, instead of the last three possessions, we would've won by 14+ Now that we know that J Cam can handle the 2 minute drill and no huddle pressure, I feel that we are going to tear through the Bucs and Bills. 5-5 isn't that bad. Hell, we only won 5 all of last year.
We have the Bucs, the Bills, the Vikes, the Bears, the Giants, and the Cowboys left on the schedule. we can easily go 4-2 and sneak into the wildcard spot. The lions are not playing good, I don't see an NFC South team getting to the playoffs. I think it's between the Skins, Eagles, and Lions for that last spot.

Think about it.
The eagles lost McNabb
The Giants lost kiuwanuka
The lions have no running game
The Skins just got back Santana Moss, Sean Taylor will be back in 2 weeks, Randy Thomad is due back in December. Under Gibbs, The Skins are lights out in December. We have the team to reel off 4 or 5 straight.

I am stating it right now....We will go 9-7 and we will win the last wildcard playoff spot.

GO SKINS!
#21 = Forever in our hearts

Leaving TO uncovered

Leaving TO uncovered, or being short a few coverage players? Would it have mattered if Rogers (yes, the Redskins seem to miss him) and Sean Taylor had played? I recognized Landry, Smoot, and Springs, but the other guys?

Could Owens have had less coverage because the Redskins were blitzing?

And, a 51 yard pass interference penalty that would probably have been a pick had ST been playing...

I'm very proud of the team, even with a loss Gibbs made me eat some crow there. I disagreed with the decision to let Suisham try a 50-yard attempt but I was really impressed by what I saw from the offense today. With Sean Taylor healthy, the Redskins win.

Good game by the Redskins. It would have been sweet to steal one from Dallas. I'm with the posters in this thread who saw the game as a great effort by the team.

Speaking of that INT by Macintosh, welch, which I agree WAS an interception—how about the very next play being a 40+ yard pass interference call? Amazing how the game could turn on two calls like that. That stung, and I felt it all the way through our last Hail Mary.

Boy are we missing Sean Taylor, too. He would've had a pick today, I think, and there is no way T.O. would have had 4 TD's deep.
