Madden vs. ESPN NFL

Post by NC43Hog »

I have an Xbox and EPSN NFL is pretty cool. First person mode is pretty interesting - especially when you get knocked on your butt and are looking at the sky.

Is Madden worth getting (new version in August)?

if you don't have 2k4, just wait it out till 2k5 comes out this preseason.
it's not woth having to look at spurrier on the sidelines, when the new game is only about four months away.
i can't wait :D

Yeah, I have to see SS doing his famous Awe Shucks walk in ESPN NFL and if I wasn't throwing perfect touchdown passes I would :puke:

And I definitely would wait - probably longer if I can get a used cheaper version at EB Games.

Yeah...madden 2k4 rocks, other than fun 'n golf roaming the sidelines. When I do franchise, he's the first to get tossed. But after reading some of the proposed changes/additions the programmers are making...I'm pretty stoked about getting my grubby hands on a copy...plus August is my b-day...so it's a guaranteed present.

Gameplay; It is ESPN NFL by miles. Overall, as in franchise, Madden for sure.

That's what I hear from most of the "gamers", meaning guys who work at EB Games. I like ESPN NFL, just not sure if I want to get Madden 05 in the fall, probably will just to have a variety. Plus Madden hopefully will offer more of an upgrade than just players/coaches.

Thanks

Hate to say it, playing ESPN NFL ruined gameplay in Madden for me. Madden is not even close to being as fun to play.

Im not going to get into a serious debate over which is better. If you look at the gaming web-sites, and magazines, Madden always scores above the rest. If you look at the sales #'s, no other game comes close to Maddens #'s. People have their excuses, saying favoritism etc. etc, but I believe the people buy what they like and Madden is it.

IMO, Madden is the most realistic, although they both have unexcusable AI problems but we all hope will be fixed each and every year.

Madden on PS2 is bliss, you have the best controller, and its online!

yeah but ESPN hasn't even barely made a dent they've only put out one version and it got rave reviews....

Madden's been out for the longest time and has been the tops because everyone elses NFL games pretty much blew.... I think ESPN will give Madden a run for it's money.... kinda like what Nintendo was the long standing game system until the playstation came out..... now the xbox is challenging them.....

I just scored my first touchdown playing first person on ESPN NFL.

Usually I am just knocked silly and looking up at the sky.

I will probably get both games and make my own comparisons, but ESPN NFL has been a lot of fun.

I have both games and am starting to like Madden a little bit. I would have to say that both games are different enough to have both but if I would have to choose one over the other it would be ESPN. If you care to have me expand, email or PM me and I will give you my reasoning.

While Madden is the reliable choice, the new stuff that's going on the new ESPN 2005 is going to be ridiculous.
