Mike Wilbon on Lavar...

Germantown, MD: Chat house,

Pardon me if you've already addressed this, but what's up with Arrington and all these contract/league issues? Is it possible that the problem lies with his Agent and not the Skins or the League? Thanks for your time.

Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: That's exactly where I think it lies. I have not talked to Lavar b/c I've been consumed w/something more important to my sporting sensibilities, March Madness and then the Masters. --Mike

YES! Im glad they feel that way. Who cares about Arrington. I say trade him. Big names AREN'T important. He is JUST big name and moderate show. Parcells showed the league what can be done with supposed AVERAGE players. I don't give a damn if he is a cowgirl, puke, or what he proved that. Lets trade Cryingtton, get a 1st rounder. Draft Taylor, and a DE, or possibly Winslow and go about our business.

Trade Lavar, turn around and March home. Lavar is the man and he already said that he would take a 6.5 million pay cut to play for Gibbs. He wants to turn this thing around. He will be the best LB this year because he will finally have a coach to teach him the ropes. Look at him under Marty, he was a monster, over 200 tackles and than he just soured off under Spurrier. He led the league in sacks under Marvin, but I thought something was missing. No LB can hit like Lavar ethier. Getting rid of Lavar would absoulutely be stupid. If he doesn't want to be in the players union than who cares. As long as he is kicking the crap outof the opposition on the field.

even if he shuts up, he'll never be LT. he is a beast, but he's not on that level, and never will be.

true.
and it seems to me he hasn't accepted the 6.5 mil paycut either, or he would have withdrawn the grievance he filed. My 2 cents

anyone who wants to trade LaVar is biggest idiot on the face of the planet. In case you haven't noticed he's the best player on the skins. He can turn a game his way by himself.
LaVar is the best player in the League.

right, and how many games did he change for the better last year? or did he just not feel like changing the game for us? he may be the most talanted, but in no way shape or form is he the BEST.....
not that i want to trade lavar, but he ain't all that, at least not yet. if only he'd play a little smarter. i guess this qualifies me as an idiot too?

Woa I cant get over some of these posts! Trade Lavar are you serious?? One of the best linebackers in the game! Playest his hardest every down! Loves being a Redskin! Look all the recent problems with his contract and etc I blame squarely on his agent Kevin Poston! I dont blame him for being a little upset he has yet to have the same defensive Coordinator and the Skins have been losing the last couple of years! But he wants to bring the winning tradition back to the Redskins! He is one of our core players and a team leader! Trading Lavar would be one of the most regrettable moves the Redskins could ever do! Lavar is not going anyway! This year expect him to have a better year then last! Now with Gregg Williams running the Defensive! Lavar will run wild! Lavar is my favorite player currently on the Redskins! He wants be a Redskin! Dont let all this other stuff fool you!

LA isn't a bad guy and I don't think he is stupid sooner or later he'll understand his agent isn't working in his best interest And when he does I hope he gets violent with him

Maybe I'm just getting some weird RedSkin games from another dimension because none of what you said in this paragraph is true.
1. Im not an idiot.
2. Him being the best player we have isn't saying much.
3. And he cannot turn a game him way on his own.

1. I won't take much time to prove point #1. Im not a genious but Im 19 and work full-time as a pc technician, I have a degree, and Im about to go back to school.
2. Lavar being the best player isn't something to be all that excited about. He has heart but he also has no self control. He doesn't stick to his assignments and complains when he doesn't get to roam around free and blow his coverages. M. Lewis has him under control and he flourished, but he complained. Spurrier let him go free and prolly didnt know his name and he lost ATLEAST one game I can think of last season for us, not because he didn't try, but because he was trying. He was trying to do SOMEONE ELSE'S JOB!!! He let HIS JOB run down the sideline!
3. If Lavar could turn around a game on his own we would have won the super bowl. But we didn't. We need a lot more than Lavar because he wasn't too effective last year. I don't remeber anything special from him last season.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to keep him here. But I if he's going to be a distraction we don't need him. We don't need anyone who doesn't want to be here. We got rid of Bailey and Bailey is A LOT more valuable then Lavar. Corner is a skilled position. If he wants more money let someone else play his UNPROVEN @**. Becuase in my book, we are still riding the hype train with Lavar. We can see its there, but it hasn't come to fruitation.

My 2 cents.

as i said in another post lavar can't even wear LTs jock strap and in that case never will.lavar needs to get a life... he's playing football for a living and getting over paided to do so. well the over paided goes for every pro.i remember something from him last year, i think he helped a couple of teams get 1st down with a couple of late hits just because he feels he ran all that way so he has to unload on someone.for everyone who thinks he so awesome he is not the best LB in the game today-RAY LEWIS is by far and its not even close.lavar has talent don't mis understand me but to whinning about all this crap, it has made him-NOT MY FAVORITE REDSKIN. i think washington the LB on the other side is just is good all everyone of us will love seeing him blowup some RBS and QBS. i think he will be our defensive MVP.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

Trading LaVar?!?!?!?!??!?!

You can't be serious.

LaVar's agent has screwed it all up. And now he's trying to cover his own behind. His agent represents some very good talent in the league. Ty Law with the Patriots, Pace with the Rams. I'm sure there are more out there right now that I don't know. When his agent screwed up he had to do something to get his own butt covered so these really good players wouldn't get other agents to represent them. Think about it......He would lose millions of dollars if he doesn't cover his own butt.

I HATE AGENTS!!!!!

They get their players to do stupid things. Take a look at Duece Staley. His agent told him to hold out from training camp and that way he'll stay with his team. Well.....it cost Duece $35,000 a day and now he is with a new team.

All Kevin Poston is doing right now is getting his player to do stupid things so his butt will be covered. LaVar even said he wants to stay here. And signing that contract when he did, proved it.

I will say that LaVar is at fault to, because he did sign the contract. But LaVar is a phenomal player!!!!!!!He has just been caught in the crossfire of a business negotiation.

Kevin Poston is also at fault, even more then LaVar, he makes a living representing players!!!!!!
