Waiting for Training Camp

Post by Justice Hog »

Is anyone out there as excited about attending training camp this year as I am.

I am planning on staying there for a week and I am really looking forward to (finally) meeting many of my THEHOGS.NET brothers and sisters.

I think it's gonna be a great time and I, for one, cannot wait!

No you are not the only excited one Justice Hog. I would love to be there, but unfortunately Uncle Sam has me on this side of the ocean.

I would like to attempt to make a visit. I haven't had a chance to ever attend, or go to a game.

I know Jake and I are really excited...it's our vacation every year...I think this is our 14th (?). Anyway...we've been attending since Jake was 3. Even then adults would follow Jake around because he actually KNEW the players and could recognize them with their street clothes on which most adults can't do without a number plastered to them. Memories.

I live in Virginia so i'm not too far away from training camp, but where is it located this year? Ashburn? Also, does it cost any money for attending, parking, etc.? I need some info, cause im a kid in middle school and I have no idea how to get to training camp...

It's in Ashburn and it's supposed to be free. I'm sure if you plan accordingly you can catch a ride with folks from the area heading to camp. I also want to say there's some sort of shuttle bus there but I'm not sure where it departs from. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks for the info Redskins '74, hopefully I can make it out to camp a couple times this year. I'd love to see some of the players in action.

Yep - Ashburn and it is free unless you decide to wander over to the concession stands or the shop trailers :)

Can all of you pitch in so that I can make it up there to camp? haha

I need to just find a reason for the Firm to just fly me up there for a week.

Lazy, lazy boy.
In my Wrangler, I have two folding chairs with CUPHOLDERS. If I can get myself to Ashburn (5 hour drive), you can have one of them. Me and the boy will take turns with the other.

We just threw down a blanket. That way we could get close and I'm not above sitting on the ground! I also cannot wait for training camp.
Ok SkinsChic now I'm scared! I have a little Jake on my hands. Last year he was barely 2 and memorized the players in the year book. As the season went on he'd recognize the players out of uniform. I have no idea how he does it. I guess having a little Jake wouldn't be all that bad! ;-)
Hurry up training camp!
