landry

Post by hailskins666 »

i hate to keep posting negatives, but i have a question about landry. has anyone else noticed that the guy can't tackle for crap? it seems that he's always in the right place, but just seems to be the one bouncing off of the ball carrier. luckily, that is something that can be fixed.

just an observation though, anyone else been seeing it?

not saying that he isn't making plays or isn't in on tackles, but it just seems that he's bouncing off of running backs when he's the first one there.

maybe its just me.

thats why is said it can be fixed, or at least i hope so. but it wasn't just this last game, there have been several instances where i've noticed. he gets a pass, he's a rook.

Landry is a stud..... I think he's learning all he can in NFL.

he does miss some tackles. not too many to make him a bad player, and hes doing very well otherwise. he needs to wrap up better, those shoulder hits dont work against nfl rb's.

I've noticed the miss tackles also. Another thing I've noticed with him is that he tends to overpursue. But he's a young player and like any rookie he is going to make mistakes.

I've noticed he'll sometimes take bad angles or over pursue, that's something that he can fix as he gets more experienced.

But that's what headhunters do and Landry is a headhunter. He's also not the biggest guy, so he's gonna lose some of those battles when he launches his body in there on bigger receivers/backs.

If ya'll don't want him, we'll take him and make him our nickle-back or the heat-seeking missle in our blitz packages.

He's a heck of a player for a rookie

Agreed. And it needs to be remembered that he's a rookie, with only 9 NFL games under his belt. I think he's doing just fine for a first year player.

I like Landry, I just hope he doesn't make rookie mistakes against the cowpunks since Taylor may not play. We definitely need all our guys for this one.

He'll be fine, he's in around the ball that's what's important. He'll come into his own. I kinda like his performance so far, he goes balls out on every play.

I expect they will have Springs on #81 and Landry over the top. I remember the first time Taylor played him, he had something to prove to T.O. and I hope Landry plays like that.

I've noticed the same thing. He's not the only one that overpursues, though. Rocky likes to overpursue as well. There are more, but those two are the main ones. They are both young, so I think that this tendancy will pass in both of 'em.
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!
