I'll never forget the time my kids treated us (their mom & dad) to a trip to Dallas for our anniversary to see a Redskins/Cowboy game. This was when Robiskey (sp?) was the interim coach. We got killed then and we'll probably get killed this Sunday although it sure would be wonderful to get an unexpected win and celebrate our 41st anniversary!

Yes lets get excited! Lets take the lead and lose it by half time.

I can't wait...more run, run, short pass/dropped pass, punt.

Wait who gets hurt this week? ok, I'm going out on a limb and gunna say that Gibbs gets hurt. how? either he gets hit by someone making a play running out of bounds or he pulls a hammy.

If I thought it would guarantee a win, I would volunteer to slice my balls off and mail them to Joe Gibbs. I don't think it would help. The entire coaching staff is a collective nutless wonder.

I do, I'd let him send them for a win.

My guarantee requires no such sacrifice though, we WILL in fact win and deal the Cowboy season a crushing, demoralizing hit losing at home to us.

You have two things going for you that I don't have. The first is a use for gonads. Four children later, mine are in cold storage. The second is time. God or whomever you happen to believe in willing, you probably have more years left than I do. I don't likely have another 20 or 30 years to wait. I'll be too senile to remember or care at that age, if I'm not pushing up daisies.

My feelings about beating Dallas were improving leaps and bounds yesterday by half time.

Then, in the second half, everything that is wrong with the Redskins reared it's ugly head.

Our defense was pathetic against the one trick pony that is Philly. Several reasons for this in my opinion, analyzing Greg Williams.

GW, with all personnel healthy and available, mixes up his defensive packages pretty well, applying pressure and man to man, switching to zone and cover two, and keeps the opposing offenses off balance. But as soon as he loses a player or two...Rogers, now Taylor, and with Smoot limping, GW reverts to the cover two, protecting against the big play, and the lack of pass rush without GW blitzes puts the defense on it's heels.

If he follows this same strategy against the Cowboys, we are in for a load of hurt. The only chance we have is for GW to run the defense as he would normally do (with all hands healthy) and allow the replacements to do their jobs.

On offense, we are going to need a "throw caution to the wind" approach, and attack the cowboys until the final seconds tick off. We are going to have to score TD's in the redzone, and keep the ball out of Romo's hands if we hope to stay in this game.

Can we beat the Cowboys? Yes we can. But it's going to come down to the coaches to let these guys play football, and not try to protect replacements with ill conceived conservatism as was demonstrated again yesterday in the second half.

Embarrased enough, yes. Good enough, not a chance. Coached well enough, well sadly we know the answer to that.

Skins CAN win.

That don't mean they will. But they could.

Iggle fans didn't think they had any hope against us. Even during the game. All the way up untill Westbrooks screen pass they didn't think they would win.

Our keys will be getting some players back. We need Moss. We need the WR threats that we haven't had. I still don't think Trash is fast enough. You can argue that all day after the Eagles game. Its not my fault the Eagles slept on Trash.

There D is not that good. And we can score. But Moss will help.

ST is the only guy on our D than can give TO a fit. When TO was on the Eagles(no pun) ST was beating him up bad all day long. Sadly if he don't play it will be a long day.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Should be a good one. Cooley has to have a big game and the Skins will need to hit one or two deep ones.

What I'm happy about is we're about as healthy as we've been all season. Tank Johnson has made an immediate impact and will have another week to prepare; Anthony Henry is just about there, so we have our corners; Hamlin has turned into the defense's ballhawk; We're actually getting a pass rush, even against the better o-lines; overall, the defense has been decent recently.

Offensively, our offensive line is without a doubt top-5; Barber and Jones continue to be effective; Crayton and Hurd have come along nicely and have been an effective compliment to #81; Witten and Owens should present the Skins with a "pick your poison" choice to make; If Romo doesn't make a bunch of Favre-like boneheaded throws, we hope to wear that d-line down and take over the game in the 2nd half.

Box in the running game, beware of Cooley (Shockey is great preparation for facing Cooley), don't get beaten by the deep ball and penalties... I think we're ready.

The Skins have to hit something big early or establish control of the line of scrimmage so that the play action option is available. Portis obviously needs another big game, and JC has to be efficient with the pigskin. Cartwright is a problem in the return game and could be one of the differences in the game.

Defensively, Washington has to bend-not-break. The safties cannot overpursue and miss tackles, because T.O. and even Crayton have shown the ability to shrug off a tackle and end the drive. Skins have to figure out how to adjust to Garrett moving T.O. around the formation, and not leave one of the other receivers unattended. Of course, pressure has to be there on Romo, and Cornbread Griffin, most importantly, has to get pressure up the middle to keep Romo from stepping up, sliding out, and ad-libbing plays into big-gainers. Washington also cannot allow the Cowboys o-line to wear them down and have to force some 3 & outs early on. The Cowboys have started slow all season, but got it going early against the Giants.

Cowboys Nation was hyped for this game when the schedule came out, and have been salivating since the end of the Giants game. Redskins have won 3 of the last 4, if I'm correct.

Records out the window this week, it's time for Cowboys & Indians to crack heads for 2007. Can't wait.
Cowboys 7- Redskins 6 (All we needed was 2 minutes of the 60)
Cowboys 17 - Redskins 0 (Way to NOT show up for the 100th anniversary)
----- TWO EASY -----

I think in order for us to have a shot, we must get pressure on Romo! Greg must find a way to disguise blitz packages and get him flustered. If he has time in the pocket, we are in for a long day!

Beating Dallas is going to take points - lots of 'em. Dallas is averaging 32.9/game (Note to Coach Joe: OFFENSE wins football games) and we're already out three starters on our defense, so this is looking like a shoot-out. Let's hope our offense can keep up.

OK, and when has the vaunted Redskins offense been able to keep pace in a highscoring game versues any decent defense in any game this year?

How's the skin O-line doing? Heathy yet? Gonna need it with Ellis/Ware combo.
