I'm blaming it all on Spurrier

Post by Wahoo McDaniels »

I'm gonna blame the play of the offense on Spurrier...if I'm still with the statute of limitations.

Stay with me, 'cause this one may be a long way around... I think that you can look no further than Spurrier's tenure to spot the source of much of today's problems. It's not that the team was bad under Spurrier (which it was), but the lasting "contribution" was the personnel that he brought in. The Fun'n'Gun (or the Duck n' Chuck as Sonny used to call it), required special personnel to run it properly... like Danny Wuerffel (Danny Wurf-less), Shane Matthews, Chris Doerring, Riedel Anthony, Willie Jackson, Trung Candidate, and Taylor Jacobs. Special personnel that had absolutely no chance of making another NFL roster. We saw players like Stephen Davis leave because they didn't fit into the scheme... I think he went to a Super Bowl, if I'm not mistaken. When you fire him and bring somebody else in, a complete overhaul of the offensive roster is required. That's where our friend Mark Brunell comes in as well as our need to acquire offensive talent at steep costs (Portis).

There were the good times under Spurrier though. Because of Spurrier, I can say that I've seen, in person, an NFL coach go for it on 4th and 5 from his own side of the field in the 1st half. This year, I think Gibbs has contemplated kicking it on 3rd down.

W Rose, I think, Is going to help out a ton, take the heat off double teams on Moss.

Maybe he'll catch the first WR TD this year, this weekend?

I don't know squat about him, can't find him, but Roybus knows something we don't! :)

Could someone PLEASE tell me who is this "W Rose" ?
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

You have to read back a little. JoeBagOfDonuts accidentally typed "wrose"
instead of "worse", and it was a running joke in this thread for a while.
I don't know "WRose" but I do know his brother "MoRose".
