My 2008 Redskins Mock draft

4. Vernon Gholston 6-4 260lbs, Ohio State , forty time 4.78 DE/OLB
5. Malcom Kelly Wr 6-4 210lbs , Oklahoma, forty time 4.4
6. Adarius Bowman Wr 6-4 215lbs, Ok St. , forty time 4.4
7. Jaison Williams Wr 6-4 243lbs, Oregon, forty time 4.5
8. Limas Sweed Wr 6-5 218lbs, Texas , forty time 4.5
9. James Hardy 6-6 218lbs, Indiana, forty time 4.5 , WR
10. Paul Hubbard 6-4 215lbs, Wisconsin, forty time 4.4 ,WR
11. D.J. Hall 6-3 190lbs , Alabama, forty time 4.4 , WR
12. Marcus Monk 6-6 220lbs, Arkansas , WR , forty time 4.6
13. Mario Urrutia, 6-6 220lbs, Louisville, WR , forty time 4.5
14. Bruce Hocker , 6-4 200lbs, Dukes, WR , forty time 4.4
15.* Darren Mcfadden, 6-2 210lbs, Arkansas, forty time 4.3, RB
Just in case his stock drops we will take this guy he is far too talented to not pick up , if he is available. projected to be top three pick.
16. Felix Jones, 6-0 200lbs, RB, ARkansas, Forty time 4.4, If this guy is available when we pick I say why not? Portis is starting to show his age and has been banged up these past couple years. I would take him in a snap.
17. Ray Rice , 5-9, 205lbs, RB, RUtgers , Forty time 4.4 ,
Ray Rice is also an excellent back. Very compact power runner, just may be what we need in Washington. If we are in the top fifteen picks then I would opt to go with the best talented player. Projected to be top 20pick.
18. Jake Long , 6-7 ,300lbs, Michigan T/G , this is by far the best lineman coming out of the draft if he drops far enough I say why not? Jake Long would probably go top three but you got to put this guy on your list if he is available, he is massive and can run block/pass block he can be the cornerstone to any offensive line.
19. Malcom Jenkins , 6-1,200lbs , CB, Ohio State, forty time 4.3
True Lock down corner. Ohio State breeds some of the best defensive backs.
20. Reggie Smith , 6-1 200lbs, Cb, Oklahoma, forty time 4.4
Another lock down corner. This guy can provide immidiate help.
This 2008 draft class is deep in talented cornerbacks.
21. Justin King, 6-0 180lbs, Cb, Penn St. , forty time , 4.32
22. Antoine Cason , 6-0 180lbs, Cb, Arizona, forty time , 4.39
23. Glenn Dorsey, 6-2 300lbs, DT, LSU, forty time, 5.1
I prefer not to draft a DT in the first three rounds for I think we are good at DT. If you notice we are stopping the run fine in Washington. But if Glenn Dorsey is easily one of the Best in college.
24. Cedrick Ellis , 5-1 295lbs, DT, USC , forty time 4.8. Cedrick and Glen Dorsey are both in a league of there own. The only two Defensive Tackles worth drafting in the first round. Both Ellis and Dorsey can play any tackle position, 3-4, 4-3.

I would love for us to find a good DE/OLB type in the first round like Lavar Arrington/Demarcus Ware/ Shawn Merriman type guy in the first round.
Second Round I feel we should go for a the Physical receiver we have been missing for so long. There is plenty of WR prospects to choose from.
Of course if a player like Darren Mcfadden happened to be available or Jake Long then I dont know how we could let them go by.

3-4 won't fit with us although I say we should use the 3-4 in some plays when needed.But I'm a lil confused in the whole list you made are does the best available guys?.

If the purpose of this thread was to abandon all logic, someone succeeded.

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, there is a kicker coming out of Bufu State the Redskins should trade away all of their draft picks to get.

After all, who drafts players based upon need?

Having a successful draft requires a FO that is in place and ready to utilize all the input from their sources to ensure that all the picks we have (and can possibly acquire through trading those stars from this year that did not play well enough) end up being able to contribute to the team both short term and for the future. :lol:

We do not have such an organization and therefore as things stand right now we will just use all the draft picks to obtain "proven" talent from other teams that do have "proven" FO people who will be able to turn those late round picks into future HOF material :cry:

THEN, through Free Agency we can continue to ensure that all those players who have had really good careers but are now on the downside can get some more money in their pockets for very little if any real effective playing time. :shock:

If the team has nobody that can properly manage a draft why don't we see if they will take some of the "real contributors" from this site to help them - that would be fun :wink:

Does anyone think that Skins should draft a reciever? The defense has been immaculate for all but one year since Gregg Williams has been here and the skins need far more help on offense than defense. Of course thats just my observation I could be wrong?

My list is a list of some of the most talented players in college. I just think we should be scouting these guys out.

Confused about what? This list is a list of talented players in the college ranks. Basically since we have a long way to go until the draft we should send our scouts to check these guys out. It is a list of alot of different positions but nevertheless these guys are all bonified studs at there respective positions.

I will just list potential prospects on the list. If one is already picked up by another team I pick the next on the list.

My second round pick must go to an all out physical monster. He must be able to drop into coverage and pressure the Qb, as well as chasing a running back down. Think LT.
