Where Do We Go From Here?
Okay, well...that game sucked didn't it? I mean, it was like the Redskins were a Middle School team playing the Varsity High School team! The Redskins looked so bad, it was very tough to watch the whole game. I can't stand that Jason Campbell can't hold on to the stinkin' ball!!!
Now, what this team needs to do....and I mean needs to do RIGHT NOW is to forget about this game!!
Sure, I guess it'll be tough to do that but when you look at the big picture, the Redskins are now 4-3 with 9 games left in the season. There is a lot of football left to play. The playoffs are still within reach.
If the Skins play the rest of the season like they did today, it'll be a long long horrific season to be sure.
I am confident, however, that this team has the ability to rebound.
The Jets suck but the Redskins certainly can't look over the Jets now because they were outright embarassed against the Patriots.
It's now time to open up a 6-pack of you know what.
I am just hoping that the Redskins, somehow, learn from this butt-whipping and use it to their advantage in future games.
After the Jets, we have Philly and Dallas coming up. We'll need to be at our best to beat those two teams.
Don't look now, people, but we're about to find out just what kind of team the 2007-08 Redskins are.
Winners
or
Losers.
I am hoping they are "winners". We'll see in the next few weeks, won't we?

If this team has any character, they will absolutely destroy the Jets next week. If not...
We shall see.
We shall see.

I disagree. The only team that we have destroyed this year is the Lions. Playing at the Meadowlands is very tough no matter how bad the Jets or Giants are. I fully expect the Skins to win, however. I'm thinking 24-10. Yes this game sucked but the Patriots are out of this world good. Probably the best team that I have seen in a long time. They blow everybody out.
The key to me for the rest of the season is what Bugel and the rest of the offensive staff can do with the oline. Right now they are garbage. Every single guy on the line, including Samuels, got pushed around today. If they are able to improve and give JC some time and open up some holes for CP then I think we can get back on track. If, however, they continue to play the way they have the past 2 weeks then we're going to have trouble staying in games. The same can be said for the d line. They got some pressure on Kitna but other than that they have had trouble generating pressure. With our injuries in the secondary this becomes even more important. Warner last week and Brady today had all sorts of time to throw the ball. So the way I see it our season is going to come down to how we play in the trenches.

I think that we will win also... I totally agree with putting this game behind us and to get people healthy...the OL was not good but JC did miss some throws... DL played ok, but you cant just rush 4, I thought that GW was gonna blitz and he didnt...my heart goes to the players becuase this is a tough loss...

He was in a lose-lose. No one in the league finds the open hot receiver better than Brady (see the Dallas game)... Plus, he was down 2 CB's... He was using a safety as his nickle back... what was he going to do? If he had started blitzing, and they didn't work, you have made a bad situation ever worse... Brady eats it up, and he doesn't rattle.

Needless to say, I am shellshocked and embarassed for the team. A very tough loss to take, a big fat slice of humble pie. I can only hope it can be used as some kind of catalyst to motivate the players and the coaching staff going forward.
I think the two undefeated teams in the league have shown that the 'conservative gameplan' is soon to be placed in a museum next to the skeleton of the T-Rex. While the state of the season is not at the level of 'desperation', the team needs to play like it. New England played as if they were, pulling out all the stops on both sides of the ball.
The team has shown a lot of heart throughout most of this season, playing hard although they let a couple slip away. There were glimpses early on in this past game of things they might have been successful with against New England, but they couldn't maintain it, and then things just got out of hand. Jason Campbell had his worst game as Washington's quarterback, but that happens to most young QB's at least once. I wouldn't anticipate that to continue throughout.
In the end, the future of this teams' season is going to come down to pride, effort and execution, and maybe in that order. I'm hopeful and will try to remain optimistic about it, but the loss today was very disillusioning.

Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...
Well for starters, I dont think they should ever forget about this game. A patriots logo with a 52-7 should be plastered everywhere. A remeinder , that they never wanna feel that way again. Jim Tressel at Ohio State had the door code to the practice facilities changed to 4214( the score of last years national championship game 42-14) they have to remember it every day. The ultimate goal is to win the Superbowl and thats gonna mean beating the Patriots. Otherwise whats the point?
This one hurts alot, even more so than alot of the past losses.
I think this team should remember this loss, So that they can never ever ever ever let this happen again.
I know our Oline has been hit hard with injuries, but 52-0 is more than just our OLine being banged up. I mean I was at a total loss for words after the initial anger subsided.
One thing for sure I hope the coaches really take a hard look at this team and make the adjustments that are necessary.
Campbell was playing very scared out there, there is no reason he should cough the ball up four times. He panicked out there.
Heres to winning out the rest of the season! Please please please coaches do whatever it takes to straighten this team out!

You are disappointed, fine... but this statement is just plain ignorant. Why don't you look again, only this time look at the whole plays...

Look at the gameplan. If you ask me, whoever approved that gameplan was scared. Absolutely no attacking. They got 3 first downs on the first drive, but never built on it. All jabs, no hooks, uppercuts, body shots thrown. The Patriots never even got challenged, defensively.
Cowboys 7- Redskins 6 (All we needed was 2 minutes of the 60)
Cowboys 17 - Redskins 0 (Way to NOT show up for the 100th anniversary)
----- TWO EASY -----

I am glad we will only have to face the Pats one more time this season. We will be better prepared then.

Lets look long term for a minute. Lets just say, by some overpowering force, we mange to make it all the way. Of course it wouldn't be us that got us there, it would be some fluke. Lets say we play against Colts or Pats in the Superbowl. I laugh @ that thought. I just want to beat Dallas twice and put the year to rest. Hopefully we'll have our draft picks for next year and we'll get some young strong linemen. LOL. who am I kiddin, we'll probably trade all our picks for yet another WR. Better yet, lets give multi-million $ contracts to our current WR's for them to stay here in DC. Oh man, this blows.
Go Skins, Shoot Down Da Jets !!!!!!

I hear a lot of people saying this but I just don't agree. It would have hurt a lot more to lose to the Cardinals last week at home after blowing a halftime lead. I felt a lot worse about losing to the Giants - our hated division rivals - and the Packers - who we were clearly better than and should have beaten.
We got whipped by probably one of the best teams in football right now. I can live with that.

No, more like very silly. Any true fan should know they're not in our division.

I wouldn't be packing my bags just yet, Homer.
Our D has been good, we still did not let Moss eat our lunch. However, if other teams watch the film, The Pats have exposed our D. Everyone else, will know how to beat our D now.
To me this game comes down to great gameplaning buy the Pats, They knew exactly where our holes in the D were and they took advantage of it.
My problem is after an entire 1st half of the game why, WHY did GWs not try something different, why didn't he try to bring some pressure? Why didn't he just try to cover up the holes in the D that they consistantly were hitting over and over again. Wes Walker was the one eating us alive, and GW sat their and let it happen.
Offensively, once again, the Pats Knew what we were going to do, and the took that away.
I think all the players were playing hard and all did a good job with the plays that were called.
To me it all comes down to Coaching, we got out coached.
Where do we go from here?
Well better gameplans, we have to adapt, and change the gameplans on the fly. We can't go into every game with the same gameplans. The Pats knew exactly how to stop our O and they knew exactly where the wholes were. To go from here Id say we can't be that predictable.

I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.
We have one convincing win and one blow-out. All of the other games were nail-biters. We don't have an offense that can go down the field and score on a regular basis. Most times, it's 3 and out. This team doesn't look very good and several of the next games are on the road. I don't look for us to be very good without some kind of miracle.
