What a surprise. Then it's probably best you never go to a game.

Dude, 99% of the people on this board probably have a better job than the one I have and if anyone could use more money, it's me.

Redskin in Canada wrote:But let me ask you a question here ... IF

1) I had attended quite a few Redskins games in years past and some games during this season; and

2) I had been wearing burgundy and gold, singing Hail to the Redskins and joining the crowd in what the crowd does best; and

3) I had had to pay every time for international plane tickets, several days worth of hotel accommodation in DC and elsewhere, tickets to the games wearing as much burgundy and gold as any while singing Hail to the Redskins to the top of our lungs; and

Would you then consider me to be a better fan than I am now in your view?

How come in point three you make it seem like such a hassle to see your beloved Redskins? Isn't your dying devotion to this team more valuable than any amount of money? And if money is the issue, avoid buying tickets and go to training camp then..... or are your Redskins not worth it?

Anyways, what would make you a better fan is to give people slack in a pick 'em game and stop trying to annoy and make enemies every week.

Like i have said before... a little ribbing and joking is fine but you keep going at it OVER AND OVER AND OVER every week and the deal has gotten old for a while now. People don't always expect the same outcome as you. Get over it.

Treating this like a fun pick 'em game and unwrapping your panties from the bunch that they are in would make you a much better fan in my opinion (and a lot of others I'm sure).

Here we go again. But I truly believe that this is time well spent.

1) My point all along is that everybody will have greater success in sports as a fan and our professional lives, particularly an aspiring sports journalist, if you develop abilities to reflect and react, perhaps not necessarily positively to ridicule from me, but to the good arguments presented by others and me about this topic.

2) I do not make it a big deal. I just compare it with your own standard to explain how much of a hardcore fan you are. I do mention it because I have actually done it. All of the points under the conditional proposition in my previous post above are true. Does that make me a better fan? Certainly not in my book. A better fan is not that who says he/she is. The better fan has values towards his/her team regardless of whether he/she attends a game or not.

3) When I said, I could use a bit more money, I did not say I could not attend games. I do so -every- year, including having done so already this season. I never attend as many games as I would like to though.

4) I do not consider -any- of the Redskins fans my "enemies". Really. I would not spend time here at all if that was the case. And at least on Redskins issues I will cover their back against any Puke or Philthy fan that comes around. If I did not think that it was worth spending time discussing this issue with you, I would not be doing it. I am hoping that you understand that beneath the stupid topic at hand there is a GREATER picture. It is about SPORTSMANSHIP. I wish you would talk it over with JansenFan, BossHog, FFA, Fios and several other staff members at a THN Tailgate sometime.

One never picks against one's team, one's friends, one's family, or one's country in sports (and life in general by extension) no matter how dire the odds against us might be. NEVER.

5) It is a Redskins Board. It is a Redskins Board. It is a Redskins Board.

If I put money on this game - something I don't do any more - I would definitely take the Skins and the points.

The only bet I made on this game is with a friend of mine. I bet him $10.00 that the Patriots won't score more than 30 points.

Part of me really thinks this Skins can win this game....I just doubt they will because of their OL problems.

For the last time... IT'S A DAMN PICK 'EM POOL! NOT LIFE OR DEATH.

You have no idea who I am as a person or how I am as a fan. You don't see me on a daily basis and have no right to generalize me as a fan.

I'm done with this.

I hope those that picked the Patsies enjoy their victory. You gained 1 game on the rest of us poor pathetic fans.
