What would be more embarrassing.....
....forfeit against NE, or actually playing them? They're going to lose either way, and if they actually play them they're going to get blown out and they may end up suffering more injuries. They might be better off to just forfeit.

I think it would be more embarrassing to predict a blowout loss, only to have us win the game. Kind of like you did with the Detroit game.

Ridiculous! Any given Sunday man. You just never know in this league.

It makes me sad to hear actual Redskin "fans" to speak in this manner. Forfiet! Are you kidding me? This team will be the biggest test the Patriots have faced all year, thats right I said ALL YEAR! Dont think that the Patriots dont know it too. OK the Cowboys can score , but never had a chance at keeping the score down, it was expected to be a shootout by both teams. They know this aint gonna be a shootout this time, its a knockout. We are more physical than anyone they have played to date. Forfiet ,Thats garbage.

The game against NE has all the makings of a classic "trap" game... NE is playing the Colts the following week. The Redskins are looking extremely fragile... just the kind of team one might be tempted to look past.
We would still need a moderately competent game from the Offense... but, the hallmarks are there.

Our defense will show up next week. We can count on our defense.
So obviously we are counting on our offense to show up next week.
We ran the ball 28 times. Campbell threw the ball 18 times.
Time of possesion was 35min for Arizona and 25 min for Washington.
Obviously the injuries to the O line has forced our offense to be more conservative. I just hope we open up the offense next week against the Pats. I am pretty sure we will have a no holds barred type game next week. Every team wants to take out the Pats. I am sure we will let all fly next week.
Cheer up folks! We did win the game!

Exactly... I think that we have a good chance to stay with NE maybe even squeeze it out. Name a good D they have played all season, they have played (in order) NYJ, SD, BUF, CIN, CLE, DAL, MIA... only one of those teams is over .500 and DAL has a crap D anyway... plus that fact that anything can happen (Brady gets hurt and who is the 2nd QB?)
I will say that we got a 50/50 chance to beat NE. PERIOD!

To win against the New England Patriots, a team must have a competent offense. At the moment, our offense is almost non-existent due to injuries all along the offensive line. Our defense is quite another matter. They're excellent and I suppose it's possible they could win it for us but not very probable.
I love my team. I'm also quite realistic about what they're facing.
So let me frame my faith about the situation this way:
My house, my car, my bank account, my retirement...
Everything I own.
Your house, your car, your bank account, your retirement...
Everything you own.
Next Sunday, I get the healthy Patriots. You get the healthy Redskins. (Since you can't anticipate or assume injuries.)
No point spread.
Do we have a bet?
As much as I'd love to be wrong, if you want to take the wager...
I'll tell you where to send the money and the property about this time next week.

Exactly who are you making this bet with? And how would anyone know this is an even bet? I don't have the first clue that you legally own a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. Even if you do own something of value, my annual property taxes are over $100,000.00 per year. You want to make a foolish bet? Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

Would I bet my life on it? No, but neither should you if you have a brain in your head. There's no telling how the ball is going to bounce, or when a player is going to have an off day. This game is by no means a sure thing for the Patsies. I recall Spurrier's Redskins being the last team to beat them before their first SB run.

See those trees over there? There's a forest just on the other side of them. Look closely.
I'm not trying to scoreboard anyone by comparing 1040's and W-2's, OK dude?
My point that you may have missed is that if you had to bet everything you own (regardless of dollar value) on the Redskins winning at New England next week, is your faith so blind in this team that you'd do it?
I love 'em. I do. And I would LOVE to be wrong.
Something tells me I won't be, though.

You're trying to bush league you way around your own post. Nowhere does it state this is hypothetical. Suppose I want this bet?

Yes, we would need a MIRACLE. They have been known to happen, you know.Countertrey wrote:We would still need a moderately competent game from the Offense...
The Lord knows I am hoping for one.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
GSPODS wrote:You're trying to bush league you way around your own post. Nowhere does it state this is hypothetical. Suppose I want this bet?
OK, I gave it my best shot. I tried to communicate with you about how I feel about the Redskins' chances next week and I failed.
So I'll stop now.
But if you want to enforce my post as a legally binding contract and compel me to make that bet with you, get yourself an attorney and we'll talk, OK? Because things that people type on the internet are always taken so seriously...especially in court.
Of course, it'll be hard for you to pay your legal fees, since I'll already own everything you have based on the outcome of the game. Maybe you can get someone to work pro bono?
