I wonder if he's looking to adopt a son?

I hope he stays for however long he wants, but we all know that he will leave if he thinks he can't help the team. The past few years, it does look like he's leaving, he got us GW, and Al... I'm thinking he's setting us up so that when he decides to call it quits, we are in good hands. I love Gibbs, it's different these past years that he's there. I've cheered, been upset, always heartbroken after a loss when we had the other coaches. But with Gibbs, there's always hope, hope in knowing that our coach has been through it all, hell and back, and got us 3 rings... 3, HERE in D.C. Yah I'm still a baffoon that you cannot talk to a few hours after a loss, but knowing that coach gibbs is there, makes it easier to recover and be fine with it. To say that "we'll get 'em next time" and actually mean it. HAIL

I would hope that Dan has learned his lesson. Ask Joe Gibbs who the next coach should be. Hopefully they keep it in the family for minimal disruption

That would all depend on IF they want the job. They could be of the mindset that they excel at their current job titles, regardless of team(to a point) and stay where they are. THEN the trouble would be that they need a head coach that stays a head coach and let the O/D coordinators do their work. As stated, Cowher wouln't be a good match for that.

I was just using him as an example of a prominent, established coach.

While some of you ponder upon Joe Gibbs' future, he is pondering upon -GREAT THINGS- for the Washington Redskins -THIS- season.

Watch:

http://www.joegibbsonline.com/weekly_ga ... p?item=177

I find this video to be VERY interesting in the different contexts in which these two weeks went. Read between the lines. I will say no more.

Great message though.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I would be happy If Gibbs decided to just be the GM after his contract is up. I also would like to have Gibbs choose a head coach himself.

Sorry if this is a bit pre-mature, but I really hope he stays for a couple more years after his contract is up.

Gibbs will retire after the season... no that's what they said last year and the year before that, and te year before that

I'm starting to think that he needs to retire after this season. The game management and clock management of this team is pathetic. The same mistakes over and over again from our coaching staff. Hopefully they can get the kinds worked out (although how many times has that been said already). If not, then maybe he should consider a move to the front office.

It actually hurts me to say something negative about Joe Gibbs. He's such a class act and a hero in DC as far as I'm concerned. But I do agree - there are a lot of mistakes with clock management and an awful lot of stupid penalties - false starts, for example - that weren't part of Gibbs' first round with the Skins. The loss to the Giants and today's to the Packers felt as though we handed both teams wins on a silver platter. Were both losses the fault of the coach or the players who didn't execute or a combination of both?

He'll do the right thing if needed Much like Moss, take himself out if he feels he's putting the team in jeopardy. It is hard being a fan.........

Gibbs clock management is a joke.. he looks lost anytime theres an important desicion to be made.. even the camera men know it.. it seems anytime we are in that spot they go right to him on the sideline with that blank stare on his face as the clock keeps ticking away

I'm not excited to see Gibbs leave. He's the best thing I've ever experienced as a Redskins fan. He has offered the most hope I've ever witnessed as a fan.

I'm sorry but after him...I'm scared to think of what may happen. Who else could take his position and have the authority to tell Danny to shut up and go sit in a corner? Is his tyranny simply on hold? lolool

LoL, I'm with you. It just might start a trend though, each team will have two head coaches, 1 for Defense and 1 for Offense.

Yep. Agree with that completely.

But I actually think Dan Snyder's turned the corner. I don't think (ok, I fervently hope) that Gibbs has taught him the right way to be an owner.

Yea that was painful to see. The camera panned to him as the clock was ticking down to the 2 minute warning and he just had a blank, confused look on his face. Is it indecisiveness? Confusion because too many chefs in the kitchen? Whatever it is it needs to stop because it is pathetic how many close games that we have lost in Gibbs' second tenure.

This was an issue before Al was here. Gibbs is the problem in this regard.

I have to agree here. You don't let :35 seconds run off the clock in that situation, regardless of the number of chefs in the kitchen.

The play calls were decent, the calls where there and we were attacking. The players simply didn't execute.
