Actually today the 14-17 lead for the packs could of been changed if JC 20 yard catch to Lloyd would of been completed. But Lloyd didn't catch that and that could of been a TD.CanesSkins26 wrote:im sorry i hate saying this but what has Llyod done to lose a game
See last year's Tampa Bay game that we lost by 3 points. Our every first offensive play Campbell throws a deep ball that goes through Lloyd's hands that would've been a sure td catch. On the flip side, what has Lloyd ever done to win us a game? Was he the one that made the td catches in the Dallas comeback? Was he the one that scored in OT against the Jags last season? Did he break the Skins single season receiving record a few years ago? I don't think so. Yes Moss has struggled this season but the guy has done a lot of great things for this franchise so hate on him if you want, but don't go comparing him to Lloyd.

Why we don't get respect
Reall simple...because evertime the media tries to give the skins props, they go and blow it. This was a statement game and the only statement that was mad is that we are an average NFC team. Sitting her watching the dallas and NE game and I realize we have a ways to go and I will say it now....the coaching on these teams is superior to ours. I am starting to really think that Gibbs needs to just let other people make all the decisions on gameday. The way this team handles the clock is a joke and that is a direct reflection of gibbs.

Yes, the game today sucked, but geez people, talk about some over reactions.

We've lost 2 games. I guess the season is over.

Fire Gibbs... fire Saunders... trade Portis... bench Moss... ... ...

CanesSkins26 wrote:... It certainly is possible that part of Moss' problems have come from him just taking time to get used to Campbell's passes. Like you said, for the majority of his NFL he caught passes from Brunell and Pennington, two of the weakest armed qb's in the NFL. I'm not sure how much work Moss got with Campbell last season, but Moss was injured during preseason and has been banged up during the season also and has missed lots of practice time. If you take it back even further, Moss' qb at the U was Dorsey, who didn't have a very strong arm either. So hopefully his problems this season are just a result of him still getting used to Campbell. I know this is a thin argument but Moss has always had sure hands.
At the end of last year Campbell indicated that he would spend whatever time was required this past off-season getting used to all of his WRs - he said that whatever was needed to get the timing and familiarity down would be done - that is not an issue - then he said before the season began that he was absolutely in synch with all his WRs

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Where do you place the blame for a game like today? Play calling? Game management? Poor performance from the offense?
It was all bad.
You aren't going to win many games when your weapons are the worst players on the field (Portis and Moss).
By far the worst game Moss has ever played in the B&G - if that's him being back to healthy - then I'd just as soon see him classed as 'injured' again, because that was awful.
I guess Reche Caldwell has been so awesome that he was inactive today. More great long-term personnel decisions - bring new guys in to take practice time away from the guys you're going to play anyway.
Luckily, it's only one game... but it feels like it's the second of five that we let it get away from us when we had every opportunity to win.

And we've only won 3 games, so what's your point? We've basically given away 2 games and the toughest part of our schedule is yet to come. After the Cardinals game next week, a team that always gives us fits, we play at the Patriots, at the Jets, home against the Eagles, and at the Cowboys. That is a brutal stretch of schedule so we can't afford to give away games that we should have won. I don't know if you are watching the Cowboys/Patriots game but we are nowhere near the caliber of those teams right now. This team shows signs of getting better but we have a long way to go.

Aside from the pats, the packers are not really worse than anybody we play soon. Still should have won today, but their are going to be some easier games coming up. They are the ones we can't afford to lose.
We are still a good team... mistakes and miscues, it happens, NE will have them, IND will have them... we will bounce back and go to the playoffs

well said Boss - we should have won this game - we still have a lot of issues but we could have and should have won this - very frustrating to watch a lot of guys not lift their games when the "stars" were letting us and the team down.

I didn't see that last two minutes b/c I had to go to work but I can tell you why we lost. It happened way before the final two minutes. We created turn overs and didn't capitalize on the turnovers we could have had. We also didn't run an effective offense. We only had
ey to go to. JC was trying so hard to get Moss the ball but for whatever reason, his concentration wasn't there and the ball just wasn't getting caught. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that he didn't practice. I think it would have been interesting to see us go to a few reserve WR's given the injuries. Was nice to see B Lloyd almost get another big catch but better luck next week. I don't think we showed up to play today. Plain and simple.

frankcal20 wrote:Was nice to see B Lloyd almost get another big catch but better luck next week.
See, THAT is what I am sick to death of: The "almost" attitude.
He ALMOST made that catch. They ALMOST scored in the last moments against the Giants after being first and goal at the one. And they're ALMOST 5-0. And the last decade has been one ALMOST after another.
Some will argue that "at least the effort level is there." To which I respond:
In the movie "The Rock," Sean Connery's character has a memorable line about the difference between winners and losers. And recently, the Redskins have been doing far too much talking about doing their best and far too little with the prom queen.
I know they're not going to win every game, and I know mistakes are inevitable when human beings are involved, but am I the only one that is tired of having the SAME ISSUES kick the team (and the fans) in the crotch with such regularity, especially when SO MANY victories have been SO TANTALIZINGLY CLOSE? Aren't SOME of these things correctable, especially since these are MILLION DOLLAR ATHLETES AND COACHES?
Yet all we get is another week of blue balls.
Sometimes, I really hate that I love this team.

I'll tell you why we lost:
(1) Everyone dropped the ball;
(2) Turnovers;
(3) After the 1st half, our pass protection broke down;
(4) Everyone dropped the ball (Oops. Said that already, didn't I?)
The Redskins now have two losses which could have very easily been wins for this team. That's the most frustrating part of this!
The only positive side is that the Cowboys had their butts handed to them by the Pats so we're still only one game out.
Still, Jason Campbell did a great job today. His receivers cost us this game.

The loss sucks but there are a few positives.
1. The defense. Every last member of the defense came to play today. They had a few problems but they managed to only give up 10 points to Bret Favre in Green Bay. One hell of a performance.
2. Jason Campbell. A lot of young qb's would be rattled playing at Lambaou. He wasn't. He would've had one hell of a game statistically if his receivers and oline had shown up. The kid gets better every week and he is going to be one hell of a qb in this league.
3.

You know things are bad when someone compares us to a Michael Bay movie.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

At least he didn't bring up a Pearl Harbor reference...
Why am I mentioning the rain so much?
Because I don't get this entire thread and crying that is going on. Sure they lost and it sucked and they could should of etc.
But I am willing to let the fumbles and drops slide becuase of how bad that field and rain was.
You want to know why the rain didn't effect GB? Because ST was catching or dropping Favre's passes.
Considering all this I am upset we lost but I am not upset after this game like everyone else is. I think it is silly to be calling for players and coaches heads after this game.
Yeah it rained and that was a good reason behind all the drop passes and why we lost IMO.
Just my

Guys, this is still the Redskins. I am 22 years old and since I have legitimately followed football, the Skins have stunk for the most part minus a few seasons. Every year its the same story. We lose to the teams we should beat and we give away games we should have won. I will tell you this, the Redskins have the most die hard fans in the league to be able to fill the biggest stadium in the league after not having been consistently better than average for the past 15 years. And I can tell you this, from these 15 or so years I have been following football and the Redskins specifically, I wont let myself stay angry about this game. As a wise man once said to me "Why stay mad? You still have to wake up and go to work and pay your bills. They care about you sucking at your job as much as you should about them sucking at their job." Amen brother, Amen....
The O line injuries definately was a big factor to our offense sputtering and failing. Portis and Moss were both pretty terrible today. Gibbs, I dont know what the man was doing with clock management. Our D had a decent performance, minus a few stupid penalties. Dont trade Moss or Portis and dont fire Gibbs... yet. The season is 5 games young and a lot could happen. Things could change. The Redskins could get better.
Or as the past 15 years have shown, probably not...

Thanks for cheering me up. The lost hurts deep down, but reading this crap automatically turns my attitude to the positives I saw (JC great game, ST Amazing- could've been 4 INTs!, CC back in front)

JC did play pretty good, and so did
ey and the entire defense. I think the o-line played as well as anyone could've asked considering the circumstances.
The lost fumble by Moss and about a dozen dropped balls was the story. We definitely could've had this one. Every athlete in every sport can have an off day, but the dropped passes killed us. I actually thought we looked better than the Packers except for a few plays and the last few offensive series.
I'm not overly worried yet, there are still 11 games to be played. The Skins typically get better as the season progresses. JC is solid and is still getting better. He still hasn't even started an entire season yet.
In my opinion, the defense is damn good and the offense ain't that far behind. Just some bad luck today. Our receivers usually make those catches, evident in last weeks game. That's not going to happen very often, for any team.
