trade scenario
Just wanted to get everyones thoughts on this one. with the trade deadline coming up tampa bay is hurting for running backs. they just signed zach crockett which is a complete desparation move. i would think the bucs would love to get somebody like betts via trade. how would you guys feel about this move? i think we would still have good depth behind portis with cartwright and sellars. also, i think we could get some pretty good value from the bucs due to their dire need for a rb

The Redskins won't trade Betts. Haven't you heard yet? Betts and Portis are one and the same.

Reasons why this won't happen:
1) We're in the hunt for a playoff spot;
2) You didn't indicate what we'd get in return, but I don't see us having an obvious need to fill at this point. Another OL goes down and maybe we do have a need.
3) TB is not only in the NFC but on our schedule. Why improve a team that we need to play and beat possibly to make the playoffs?
Just 3 reasons why Gibbs wouldn't trade Betts to TB.
One other thought -- Portis has a huge cap hit next year. Is anyone sure we can keep him after this year? Personally, I'm not sure that Portis is the kind of back that Gibbs really likes anyway and to take up 6-7 mil on the cap, doesn't make a lot of sense. If Portis isn't on our team next year, Betts is our back (and a Gibbs-type back too) -- with an awfully friendly cap hit.
I love talking trades but I don't see this one happening.

Too bad this won't happen but I'd trade Betts for Gaines Adams.

I think that's the only Bucs player I'd trade for.

Would you trade Betts for 2d round pick next year? I think I probably would even though I like the guy.

Barely worth discussing. But since we're here, we may as well talk about something.
So here's what happens: we trade Betts for a 3rd round pick, at best. Two weeks later, Clinton Portis' knee condition flares up, and we need Rock to start the rest of the season. I love Rock, but I don't want him starting at running back for us. Meanwhile, we still have that lovely third round pick, which we can use next year on a back up offensive lineman. Great.
As for Gaines Adams, only two things wrong with that - we don't need him, and they wouldn't want to let him go in exchange for a solid running back.
Never be so keen to throw away quality depth. We will need Betts.

I wouldn't want Gaines any more since now that I look at last year draft there wasn't that much great DE.But this year upcoming draft well have alot of talented and much better DE.HEROHAMO wrote:I would trade Betts for Gaines Adams. That would never happen though. Or a first round pick next year. That would also not happen.
So change nothing unless Rogers sucks again than we probably could find a pretty good CB before deadline is over.

That's brilliant stuff right there, I wonder why the Redskins didn't think of that already.
So tell me exactly how this Larry Fitzgerald trade would shake out.
And while you're at it, tell me which 'old guys' we're going to release next year and exactly how much cap money they will save.
Or were you just talking out your ass?
As usual, you offer nothing more than a desperate 'get rid of anyone and everyone mentality' like this was a game of Madden football and not the real thing.

I assure you, I'm completely relaxed. I'm not the one suffering from knee jerk reaction after knee jerk reaction.
Why don't you just answer the questions instead of ducking them?
I know you really don't like it when someone calls you on your completely 'rediculous' posts, but too bad... if you put it out there, people have every right to question you, so...
Tell me how the Fitzgerald trade would shake out.
Tell me what 'old guys' are being cut to save all of this cap money.
Or I guess another option would be to just admit that you rarely have any substance to your posts.

Relax I mean I to be honest if Moss is going to play like that and hes turning 29 by next year well probably have to consider younger guys.Hes very fast but no TD yet not even even over 200 yards yet is the WR we need. Now this is what I'm saying for now and I'm probably only talking like this cause of the lose but I'll give him all year.BossHog wrote:I assure you, I'm completely relaxed. Still ducking questions... because that has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I asked you:
Please explain how you suggest we obtain Larry Fitzgerald, and then tell us the 'old guys' you're going to cut to have all of this money.
You keep saying we'll cut people to make up this magical cap money but offer NO opinions or suggestions on how we will do it. Why don't you show us all a scenario?
Stop making ridiculous statements and nobody here will have to hold you accountable for them. Otherwise, we have a right to ask you to explain the asinine comments that you make.

You know how it works, Boss, we just 'trade.' It's just the way it is. How dare you call an individual out and request their detailed explanation of their comment. I must say, Boss, you're totally out of line!!!!
And in our current o-line situation, if we were to trade for ANYONE, it would have to be some sort of deal somewhere involving us receiving an o-lineman. This in no way says that I suggest such a trade, but if we do, it needs to address our immediate concerns.

We don't need another WR. We need to get a healthy O-Line and the management of the game worked out. Gibbs often times looks confused on the sideline and it's still apparent that Al is not in full control of the offense. That all needs to change.
We've got the talent from top to bottom, including "slick hands" Moss. Who by the way, will bounce back from this against Arizona. It's just a matter of managing all of this talent on offense properly. GW seems to have excellent control, management, and what-not of the defense, it's the offensive management that is the problem now.....

I would say with CP not 100% and hasn't been all year, that Betts is in fact NOT expendable. I wish someone would grow a pair and bench Portis until he gets healthy....

That would be the best course of action... But will never happen. Betts #'s are average IMO, at least right now. If you put Rock behing Sellers on arun, he'll prolly get as much as Betts. Make no mistake, I like him spelling CP, but the OL is decimated right now. We need warm bodies there.
#21 (36) This IS and will always be the High watermark where all new DB's are measured.

I to think Rock could back up Portis. I think the yards Betts got last year is mostly due to the line. Our O-line is getting hurt and look at what Betts has done with the chances he gotten this year.
That being said, If no one is blocking it won't matter who is back their even with a healthy Portis. So, I would be willing to trade Betts for an O-lineman.
With a great line you could put a backups backup in, and still get 5 yards.

I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.
