Brandon Lloyd situation looks worse and worse...

But for the record, I do think Lloyd has been blackballed. And even though he has a reputation, the organization is doing themselves a great disservice by casting this guy aside, especially so soon. If they knew they weren't going to give him a shot, why keep him on the roster at all? Why activate him? It's all extremely disappointing.

Well it has been ten games with J.C. as Qb, counting last season.

Anyhow Gibbs has mentioned he plans to get Lloyd more involved, only time will tell. With Moss unlikely to play this Sunday, this should be the oppurtunity that Lloyd can take advantage of. I hope he has a breakout game.

Wow. We had an entire thread devoted to examining how many ways the NFL has passed Joe Gibbs. Is there anything left to say? If so, I'll start the topic again.

Meanwhile, on this topic, I hope Lloyd does well. I don't know, and won't guess what Gibbs and Saunders and Lloyd say to each other.

If I were a betting man, and I am not, I would say the answer to your question is "Nothing". Which probably explains the internal issues and the perceived internal issues with the Redskins management and personnel.

Lloyd played and he played well. He was open a couple of times and still did not get the ball but at least he was on the field and he worked hard when his number was called.

I was happy to see Keenan M. catch some great passes too. We are not in as a desperate position as I thought we would be with injuries to Santana and ARE.

Repeating myself (I'm that old...I'm allowed), I'd say that Gibbs has passed the game by, or that the NFL has not yet caught up to him.

- finesse teams can't beat power teams

- any time the Redskins have 25 first downs against 11 for the opponent, Gibbs has got his team playing the way they did 20 years ago.

OK...I'm forgetting the Lions, excet for the nice glow. Who's next? Isn't it another team with an ace QB?

As some of us were saying :lol:

..... all Lloyd needed was a chance and when ARE went out I was very concerned that the play calling might get too conservative. We now know that we have a good group of players who can be where they have to be and when you add Lloyd's hands into the mix, this looks very good for this team for our passing game.

IMO, Lloyd is a really good team player for our team and will make a lot more of a contribution as he gets more opportunities - one thing we can all depend on is that he will do whatever is asked of him - personally, I will be very surprised if he is not one of our most improved players on offense by the time this season is over and they start including him in to do more than just be on the field running routes and making blocks for others. He will do that part well as he has shown but I'm looking for him to get more opportunities to be able to show that he has some of the best hands on our team.

Hopefully yesterday can be a spark for Lloyd. He made 9 yards on his own out of a quick pass lateral to the LOS.

After watching over and over the Lloyd play that that has defamed him I still say there is no reason to say he didn't try on the play. I'll go further,
it wasn't much of a mistake either-- no more of a mistake that Jason throwing the ball a foot too high. Just another play that didn't work out. The reaction to the play on the part of the fans and coaches was and is out of line.

I'm not a Lloyd fan and as yet have no opinion regarding his skills or productivity. I'm just saying the reaction to that play was and is "out of line."

No offense to anyone... but they threw him the ball once... and only when Moss and ARE were out. Their hand was 'forced' and STILL they only got him him the ball once.

And you can't do much more with the play than he did.

Maybe necessity WILL bring about change, but let's not sugarcoat it and say that it was a football decision... it was a 'desperation' decision.

... hopefully B will get a few more opportunities to show that he gives the team a MUCH better option than Caldwell and McCardell. Don't get me wrong, McCardell played great all things considered, he just can't stretch a defense with speed like Brandon can.

But congrats to Brandon anyway. People walk around saying stupid things like he's a team cancer, when all he's done is stay positive despite the obvious issues, and he hasn't once spoken out about his treatment.

I don't care whether people see it or not - that's being a damn good teammate and certainly NOT the actions of a pariah or team cancer.

He deserves more of a shot than one pass.

He actually made more than what what there IMO. His time to shine next week, I was hoping to pull the covers off in the playoffs but yah, we are about to unleash the secret weapon in BLoyd.

And Kudos to Rogers, he's playing well.

You're right...they threw the ball to him once. But he did a lot with that one pass. He was on time, he caught the ball securely, he brushed off a player and fought for yardage. All in one play. The fans cheered loudly for him, so loud that the announcer took note of it.

I HOPE that Brandon can use that positive reaction from the fans to go the extra mile if he hasn't already. If he has...then go another mile. If our "legendary" coaches can't be the "bigger man" again...then hopefully Lloyd can push the issue.

Here's hoping that he'll have more of a role in GB.

As much as it pains me to say this JG lied! On Redskins radio he said Brandon was the # 4 receiver. With Moss out I'd thought we'd see him in the three receiver set, we didn't we saw Caldwell. Ok surely we'll see him in the 4 receiver set? Not as much as McCardell...just really hard to accept that two recievers you sign after the season starts are better than one you'd had here for two years??? Much more going on then we know about??

I'm not so sure that Gibbs lied. Didn't he say that Lloyd was the #4 receiver before we signed McCardell?

I think that Lloyd just doesn't know the plays. He has the talent, so why isn't he on the field? It has to be his smarts. Thats all I can think of.

Unless 2+2=5 something is going on and I can see how it's on Lloyd...
He seems to know what he's doing when he's out there. Haven't seen a play where JC thought one thing and BLloyd had did something else.

Gibbs did say he was the #4 wideout Moss went down and that should have moved him to #3, at worse he should have been the #2 after halftime.

I'm pulling for the guy. Why would we not want a guy to turn things around and help our team win. It would be pretty sick if we had Moss, Randle El, and Lloyd. Sure going into last season we thought thats what we had but its not too far fetched for us to have that at some point this season.

There won't be any need to pull any quotes. Your signature is very clear on your opinion. This is one time I hope that your opinion and the opinion of a lot of other members is wrong, not for spite, but only because the Redskins will have one hell of a passing attack if everyone is involved. If defenses have no idea who to cover the Redskins passing game has a very bright future.

Hmn, we picked on Carlos Rogers quite a bit and look he's turned it around. Let's keep it going and maybe Bloyd will do the same thing. I'm a believer, I think he will shock and awe. It's not a matter of "IF" it's "When".

I was glad to see he got a catch. Maybe it will motivate him as I am sure he can not be happy about his current role and out put.

BL HAS SKILLS. They were evident in his time with the 49ers. He just needs to roll them out again.
