The team played unbelieveable today. I loved seeing Rogers break on that pick and bring it to the house. I also really loved Lloyd getting that catch. What a great win, we didn't really need to go deep but still the ball was spread around a lot and the line gave Campbell some excellent protection. Hails 'skins!

Saw Lloyd finally get on the field and make a contribution. Good to see. Here's to Lloyd being more of a presence from here on out.

As nice as the pic is, it just doesn't do justice to the complete destruction wrough by Sellars in that collision. Thinking about it makes my ribs hurt...

Haven't heard anything on Fred.

I like that pic because it reminds me of one I have hanging in my office. Some geezer named John Riggins running over Don McNeal.

Im still on a high from this performance, solid football all the way around. This went way beyond my expectations for this game. Unique gameplans on both sides of the ball, lots of stuff we havent seen before. I liked how the recievers stepped up, McCardell could surprise some folks here, I mean if you get him the ball he will catch it, and in a 3 reciever package you must respect him on D. This game is going to double the amount of tape teams use to prepare for us this year.

This game proves our potential, lets hope the players realize it too. Of course the opposition most likely will have a better O line than that. We just shut down the #1 passing team in the NFL (83 flippin yards). Now on to Green bay

Sorry, but I just got to my computer and have been reading threads. I haven't said anything yet because it's all been said....I'll just sum it up in 2 words...GREAT GAME! I didn't think it was necessary to keep on saying the same things as 30 other posters in various threads. I've only noticed 2 negative posters, so that's not too bad considerin the way the Skins played the 2nd half 2 weeks ago. Bring on the Pack!

I agree with cleg here. this game really could have gone either way until we pulled away late. I still think we came out a little flat in the early 3rd quarter. i am certainly excited by this win but detroit isn't a great measuring stick. lets see what we do in the next 3 games

Detroit is a great measuring stick for the D. They held a team which has scored 21+ points in every game this year to 3!!! Comparing last year's picked-apart secondary to this year's - it's like night and day. It was a good test, and the D got an A+.

From Yahoo sports:

Campbell rolled and rolled, never finding anyone in the end zone as the 6-foot-3, 284-pound Sellers was quickly running out of room as he neared the sideline. Sellers, who is built along the lines of Fred Flintstone, pulled a nimble move.

Sellers improvised, doing a quick pirouette, went back to the left into open space.

"I was just trying to make a play, I just did it on my own," Sellers said.

Campbell was right in step, as if the two were on the cast of "Who's line is it anyway?" He hit Sellers in stride. With a two-point conversion, the Redskins were in control at 24-3.

While it may not have been how the coaches drew it up, it was nonetheless the picture of perfection.

i think the defense played great. my concern would be the offense. it will be interesting to see how they stack up against some good defenses in GB and NE. we executed well today but detroit hasn't been a stalwart on D

Ok, are we rooting for the Bears to win so as to knock the Packers off their high horse.....?

Bears are looking to win this one. Then we can give GB their 2nd loss next week.....

How about it........????

Softened the Pack up for ya. ;)

Though it is never good to lose your top two receivers to injuries, it was great to see Campbell throwing to so many different targets. That had to happen sooner or later -- and sooner is better. McCardell is going to make some big plays for us this year. Sellers is the NFC Beast of the East.

Great game Skins. I just hope they dont get to cocky again. This is when they always seem to get full of themselves and then come out flat the next week. So I hope they get drilled in practice and eat some humble pie and go back to work next Sunday. Hooray Victory! :)

He should have gotten a tripping penalty on that play.

Things I loved about this game:

1. JC spread the ball around. 8 'skins had receptions, and our BEST WR was out for the game! Great heads-up play by Campbell - when the defense took away one option, he quickly found another.

2. The offense kept the throttle open - they took a 14 point lead into the half, and expanded on it by game's end.

3. Nice mix of the pass and run. Slight more runs than passes (35/29), which resulted in the 'skins dominating time of possession, but enough passes to keep the defense on its heels. Great balance in the playcalling.

4. Nice mix in the formations. I liked the use of more 3-WR sets, from which they both ran and passed. I remember one of Sellers' bigger gains was out of a 3-WR, 2-RB set, with no TE. I've complained before that it seemed like the 'skins used too many 'obvious' formations, like 2-TE sets which just screamed 'running play coming!', but this game they really seemed to mix up the formations better, and it was rarely obvious what the play was going to be. Nice way to keep the defense guessing.

5. Great play by the D, especially the line. No blitzes (were their any? I saw none that I remember), but the pressure was still intense on Kitna. As for the secondary, when the Detroit WRs caught the ball, they frequently paid for it. And nice return for a TD by Rogers. Nice to get that 'can't catch' monkey off his back, at least for a game.

It was a perfect Game. Well played all around. Bloyd had a catch, McCardell had a catch, HELL EVEN CARLOS ROGERS HAD A CATCH!!!!!

If it wasn't for the injuries, it would've been really really sweet.

If we play like this every week...if we play with that type of intensity...we'll win many games.

There isn't a better pick me up for a team that's headed into Green Bay next week. I sense a flood of interceptions coming for this team.

I am one of the first ones to keep my head up even on a bad loss, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, keep it grounded.

The defense showed it's fangs on that game and most likely will show it again on the next game. I like our chances. I hope ARE isn't hurt that bad. And the rumble twins (Cooley, Sellers) are looking more and more dominant. Cooley is finesse, Sellers with brute strength. They are #1 and #2 reciever as of right now...
