Skins Not Aiming For K2 or DT in draft?

Looks like Maske's still doing the Skins beat! ROTFALMAO

I can certainly see the Redskins choosing Taylor over Harris. Selecting Harris at number five is a somewhat risky proposition as 1st round DT's tend to not do well for a year or two. Often they are big bust.

If Taylor isn't around at number five, I would like to see the Skins trade down to pick up a DE or DT in the mid first round and still get another draft pick out of it.

Still, I wouldn't be upset at us taking Harris at number five, but I still think that you have to put Taylor and Winslow or Harris if you keep number five.

I dont know, drafting a prospect like taylor really effects a defence in the long term and in the short term. While Harris and Udeze are both definately great players, there is (apperently) more risk involved with them than in taylor. Anyone who watches Baltimore games knows how important Ed Reed is to their defense. He gets a lot of interceptions..and I do mean a lot.He is also a freek on special teams which i can only hope taylor would be also.

I think we should trade down now. I think picking up one or two defensive lineman will be the best for the team. Coach Gibbs may or may not start them right away, but at least they will be there for depth. If we loose a defensive lineman to an injury like last year we will be in trouble. We need the depth at that spot.

My two cents

I am torn between what I want and I what I know we should do. On one hand I think that we should stay at #5 and take Taylor because with Gibbs being back in town it should be a long long time before we get a chance to pick this high in the draft.

On the other hand I know that we still could use DL help especially a DE. We have no one on the DL that is a pass rushing threat. So in that case we probably should trade down. I dont agree that Harris is worthy (or any other DL in this draft) of the #5 pick. He is too small for a DT in the NFL and I would rather have Wilfork or Starks. Both should be available in the mid to late 1st round.

i can't believe that they are putting a lot of stock in brandon noble coming back strong. he is an average DT at best.wilfork is my #1 then the usc DE then harris.skins75 who is starks and what does he play DE or DT.taylor would make our D better but the d-line is our biggest weakness.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

For one, I believe this is the trouble with this team. We simply cannot fill EVERY need in one year. We need to build this team up with young players over a year or two. Noble IF healthy will be a decent DT. NO! He's not warren sapp. But he will AT LEAST be able to hold his ground and not be pushed backwards, thats all we can ask for. And if Santa is nice he'll be able to create some decent pressure, or draw a double team to free up our DE's.

I watch Raven games when the Skins aren't on and ED REED is a MONSTER!! If we could have an ED REED, Id pay him personally. He is a play maker, and I believe he makes whoever plays beside him better too. They had a mediocre line last year and did great. I believe our line is possibly comparable.

I feel the same way. Look at the impact Roy Williams has on Dallas's defense. Sean Taylor is a must in my opinion.
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.

It seems to me that we'll take KW2. Saftey is not a glaring need. Bowen and Iffy will do fine. If we don't draft KW2 then we will trade down and go D-line. With Chamberlin gone, and both Koslowski and Rasby in the latter parts of thier careers, They need someone to play H-back

I can't agree with that at all. Winslow has a crap agent, crap attitude, and has had a crap work out with the skins. I would bet anything that the skins dont' get winslow. Anymore, its looking like Taylor. If he isn't there then trade down. Unless of course there is some freak occurence that leaves Gallery on the board, but Taylor is already gone. Even then I would trade down with a team desparate for a LT. We just don't need a QB, WR, or Offensive tackle. True we do need a H-back of the future, but we don't neccesarily need it now. We can't fill all of our needs with three Draft Picks. Taylor is special, and with Gibbs here I hope we will never get a draft pick this high again. So, we better make this one count. Overall I just think that Safeties are more important that TE's.
