[A]fter Sunday night's loss to the Giants, sources close to Andy Reid and the team say there's a strong possibility Reid may get off the sidelines sooner than expected. All year, Reid's family troubles have been taking a noticeable toll, and many of his players are biding their time until Big Red makes an announcement. With Marty Mornhinweg already assuming much of the offense, Reid's a lame-duck coach at this point, just poking around on the sidelines to keep his mind off of his woes.
I was kind of surprised when Andy came back from his LOA, and then not step down after the second arrest. McNugget is definately gone after this year, but with the o-line blocking the way they are Reid might take off before the end of the season.

Yea I was really surprised by that as well. With his familial troubles I'm very surprised that he is still coaching. Has to be very difficult to do a job as demanding as being an NFL coach while dealing with the types of problems that his family is facing. As much as I hate the Eagles I do admire Reid as a coach. He has been able to do a lot on offense with not all that much talent. He is a good coach and if he does end up leaving Philly I hope that he gets another chance somewhere else once his family problems are taken care of.[/quote]

Oh, that would be sweet, Norv in Philadelphia.
Hail to the Redskins!

The Fat One's kids are grown so the damage the hypocrital Mormon has inflicted on thier lives is done. The portly Mormon is a total jerk, if you all had the displeasure of seeing this play out on a daily basis you'd know that. No one can be right except Big Red. His ego is what has held the Iggles back and left them Championship-less over the last few years. He's a hypocritial Holy Roller who paid no attention to his kids for the last 25 years and this is what happens. I feel no sympathy for the Fat One.
Since I don't know the man personally I find it impossible to be hypocritical. I can't speculate as to whether or not Andy Reid should have spent more time with his children in the past and more than I can speculate that about Joe Gibbs, who I do know. I attended high school with one of his sons and we played on the same high school football team. That still does not make me knowledgeable enough to judge. What I do know, or at least think I know, is that Andy Reid does need to spend time with his children now. Not to mention his wife is undoubtedly not having the time of her life with these personal issues. If Reid leaves, I would say he made the correct choice. Family before anything else. If Reid does not leave, I may question his sense of priorities. He can do his wife and his children no service by being completely mentally engrossed in anything other than family. JMHO
I understand that Andy has had some family trouble and he may feel his time and energy should be focused on family issues. But my only question is... if both his sons are in jail, what can he possibly do at home? The lawyers will be handling the legal issues and it just seems a little late for trying to impose some morals and values at this point.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing during the Eagles game, when Mike and the crew were speaking about how difficult it's been for the Reid family, and how Andy is a tropper and all. All I could think about was why he wasn't home in the first place to raise his kids right. Now, I'm sure there are great parents out there who end up with two (or more) lousy kids who get in trouble, but it seems to be a sign that something is lacking.
There are parents out there who are busting their behinds to make sure their kids turn out okay, and the MNF crew is praising Andy Reid for toughing it out while both his kids are in jail. Sheesh.

All professional football coaches and players spend less time than they should with their families by the very nature of the job. Yet, we do not hear of legal issues with the children of most of these individuals. I think this goes deeper than just being there.

What do you mean, by "deeper than just being there"?

I will not speculate on specifics. Possibilities may include simply not being fit for parenthood. People not suited to parenthood have children all the time. There may be some mental or emotional instability, whether genetic, or simply inherent to the household. Dysfunctional family existence is very common in these United States, and is certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. There are several other factors which may or may not contribute to the Reid household.
As previously stated, I do not know the man nor his family and cannot speculate on specifics nor be judgmental. I do, however, as stated, believe this goes deeper than simply an issue of abscence.

It is ironic how being a Holier than thou devout Mormon didn't prevent his sons from becoming rich white kids doing herion.
I hope Bill Cower doesn't plain to go to the eagles since hes still waiting for Gibbs to leave and become are new coach.OR even worst if they get Matty Sctanimore as there coach.
But if Reid leaves than the eagles are doom for a good 10 years.
