49ers cut Jacobs

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

49ers cut Jacobs

49ers: Jacobs gets pink slip

10/03/07 12:25 AM
THE NEWS
Taylor Jacobs was waived by the 49ers Tuesday, the AP reports. Jacobs, a second-round pick from 2003, had just three catches in the first month.
Our View
Bryan Gilmore was re-signed by the Niners to take the spot of Jacobs.

Well he lasted longer for them than Rumph lasted for us. Looks like the trade was a wash.

He had 3 catches? That would make him our 3rd WR...

 Good one. Let's sign him, and REALLY send a message to WR #85.
Back and better than ever!

I wish all the best for Jacobs... he's had a tough time (with his daughter dying). All reports were that he had a great camp and would be the number three for San Fran, but obviously those reports were premature. But it shows a lot of moxie just to bounce back and get out there like he did. Best of luck Taylor.

The 9ers cut former Redskin Zak Keasey too.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Jacobs' story is the one that is most common among NFL (Not-For-Long) players. The high-profile guys and stars are the exception to the rule, with about 40 of the 50 guys on the roster having to worry about their spot year after year.

Best of luck to him as he tries to work things out.

 Wow, that's exactly what I was thinking when I just read that. I thought he was having a great camp and the 49ers were really high on him, at least that's what I previously read. Anyway, I too wish him luck in his future en devours. I always liked him. I hope he catches on with another team.

ROTFALMAO

I wish that weren't true. Best wishes to him but the NFL is a brutal business.

I really like Taylor Jacobs... nice guy, had a severe and dangerous injury during his first preseason (a bruised pancreas is both extremely painful, and very dangerous...) I have to imagine that this affected his football confidence, and he never recovered...

I'd love to see him make it somewhere... as long as it's not ttiT...

Haha, what happened to all those reports that this was gonna be his year? He's a good person, but I dont think he will ever be a good WR in the NFL.

Maybe the CFL, I mean look at McCants, he's tearing it up over there in Canada!
