HOGNOSTICATIONS 2007: NFL Week 3

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Yes, it is part of a secret conspiracy against the Skins. I am sure.

Congratulations to Texas Hog for a well earned 14 - 2 victory !!!
Our premier and official Hognosticator prevailed. :hail:

Again, the group had great success as a whole. I will post the "experts" records for this week later on.

As far as the season is concerned, do not look at it seriously yet but HOOKBASSGA and Redeemedskin are tied with an impressive 38 10 record.

There are QUITE a number of posters in the hunt for the lead. There is a lot football to be played yet folks. Keep'em coming!

No room for humor, I see.

Would you like to borrow my crystal ball??? :P

A shameful showing on my part, that is for sure #-o . Apparently I need your crystal ball. I can't believe that Texas Hog pulled off a 14-2. Well done! =D>

Even a blind (Texas) hog finds a nut now and then :D

I'd trade the 14-2 for 1-15 for a Skin victory.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

Thanks Taz! ;furious;
Unfortunately there is little question that Pen would have done better than my 5-11 (Pen is my 2 year old son). Infact I think I should get him to make picks for next week and enter them into the pool to see if indeed I can beat him. I should have done that right from the start!

REDEEMEDSKIN wrote:Hey, question my record all you want, if you wish, but don't shortchange HOOKBASSGA. HOOKBASSGA has held the #1 spot since the beginning of the season, and, is outclassing all the "Veteran Hognosticators" (including me) in his rookie season. Good job, man!
Righteousness by association with him???

Guys, pack our bags and surrender, no sense in questioning the championship after three full weeks into the 17-week regular NFL season.

Our veteran posters are just behind a few games ready to jump to the lead after one of your lousy weeks, as usual. Once you go behind us, there is no coming back to the front. Brag for now. You are just setting yourself up.

Ah! and you rubbing it to Hoss and all the other veterans just a few games behind the lead, man, it is going to be fun the rest of the season as usual.

Oh please stop it! You just had a traditional Redeemed-choke week. It hurts but you have the remaining 14 weeks to easily make up for it with the assistance of

1) Pen;
2) Taz' Crystal Ball;
3) The random option; or
4) The Home team option; or

(drum roll)

5) Texas Hog's Hognostications

I know I -will- try to read them in advance this week.

And the ESPN experts' results for this week are:

Schlereth 12-4
Allen 11-5
Theismann 10-6
Golic 10-6
Jaworski 9-6
Mortensen 9-7
Hoge 8-8
Salisbury 7-9

Compare them against our own HERE.

And the ESPN experts' results for the season up to week 3 are:

Schlereth 34-14
Theismann 33-15
Jaworski 32-13
Hoge 29-19
Salisbury 28-20
Golic 27-20
Mortensen 27-21
Allen 25-23

Compare them against our own HERE.

As a perspective, our fellow posters murray and Tazlah are doing better than Allen.

Anybody up for a job as an "expert" ???

Enjoy it while you can Redeemed. Once I recover from my free-fall it will make that much sweeter when I surpass you. Even though I don't consider it that much of a feat.

While I prepare to attend for an interesting meeting, I decided to look at the Season standing from a different perspective. I wanted to learn how we were doing vis-a-vis the AVERAGE tiebreak, i.e., the average of our predicted scores for the Monday Night Football games played up to the end of Week 3. Here it goes:

1 Cleg 2.0
2 Tomahawk 2.0
3 CanesSkins26 2.7
4 SkinsJock 3.3
5 FFA 3.3
6 murray 3.3
7 Skins2Win 3.7
8 riggins85 3.7
9 tincoskin 3.7
10 Redskin in Canada 4.0
11 JSPB22 4.3
11 foggy28 5.0
13 hailskins666 5.0
14 Mursilis 5.3
15 Welb 5.3
16 HOOKBASSGA 5.7
17 NC43Hog 5.7
18 JansenFan 5.7
19 HEROHAMO 6.0
20 Dmkskins86 6.3
21 tribeofjudah 6.7
22 70Chip 6.7
22 tazlah 6.7
24 1niksder 6.7
25 EA7649 7.0
26 UK Skins Fan 7.0
27 Cappster 7.0
28 Justice Hog 7.3
28 Hoss 7.3
30 innovator83 7.7
31 Countertrey 8.0
32 Jake 8.0
33 wbbradb 8.0
34 joebagadonuts 8.3
35 BRAD44 8.3
36 Absinthe1023 9.3
37 Texas Hog 9.3

41 LobsterMan 10.0
42 skinz74 11.0
43 redskingush 11.7
44 Fios 12.3
45 Skinsfan33 12.3
46 ChrisHanburger 12.7
47 CLL 11.7
48 funbunch 12.0
49 juansushi 13.7

Do you realise that NINE posters have an average of LESS than 4 points difference with respect to the RIGHT scores?

And Cleg and Tomahawk are ONLY two points away from a PERFECT score???

Surely, there are 14 weeks of NFL football to be played and these results are only early figures. But still ...

This is a good pool of Hognosticators folks. You could get a job as an advisor to most ESPN "experts".

The key operating word was -prepare- .

Having said so, let us get the cleaning gear ready.
