please explain to me why clinton portis kept getting the ball? Is he playing hurt or does he just suck this year? How many fumbles and near fumbles did he have today? did he break any freakin' tackles?

MARINE4LIFE, do not make personal attacks outside of the Smack Forum. Consider this a warning.

We have the players. They just need to be coached better. Game management by the coaches was what killed us today. If we are going to a duel back offense, then run Betts up the gut and Portis on the ends and throw the ball down field to the wideouts. Sam Madison, come on....

This team needs to find it's identity, really. Are we are running team or passing team? What's going on here, now that we have a year under Al's system, that is different from what happened while Al was in KC....

Probably not. They also avoid the Smack Forum like the plague because we can dish out far more than we take.

If you need this explained to you then you are pretty hopeless as a Redskins fan. Portis got the majority of the carries because he is our best running back. Yes he fumbled once. Every running back fumbles, it's part of the game. CP also scored a td today. And yes he was banged up. He hurt his ankle in the 3rd quarter when Antonio Pierce fell on top of it. A running back also can't make holes open up magically. Our oline did a very poor job of run blocking the entire night. Who else did you want to get the ball? Ladell Betts who was averaging 1.3 yards per carry during the game?

we had the entire offseason to do something about the defensive line and we didn't do diddly... now we've got a beat up offensive line... i can't believe i just finished watching this team literally GIVE AWAY a game against a division opponent who HUMILIATED them twice last year... when will this team ever grow a pair? I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I think it's getting time for Joe Gibbs to go back to racing. This song and dance has gotten way beyond tired... He's captained this ship from 11-5 to 5-11 and I don't see where it's gotten much better.

did you watch the same game i did moron? it's questionable whether or not he's "our best running back". if he was hurt then maybe it was time to put Betts in... don't take this personally, but i think you're an idiot.

This is a public announcement:

(1) NO PERSONAL ATTACKS are allowed in this forum. Please keep things civil and don't call other people names – save your intellectual prowess for the Smack forum.

(2) NO PROFANITY is allowed in this forum. ALSO, if someone does break this rule, please do NOT "quote" their post and then respond to it, as this only makes more clenaup work for the mods.

Thanks.

Betts was in the game. He ran 7 times for a whopping 9 yards. He was also the one that got the last two carries of the game from the 1 yard line and how exactly did he do in that situation? Take a look at the stats from every game this season before you start talking nonsense. CP has a better yards per carry average than Betts in every single game that we have played in. Portis, in 3 games, has one less td than Betts did all of last season. The guy has one fumble and he shouldn't be getting carries anymore?? Unbelievable. If you really think that Betts is a better rb than Porits you should probably just stop watching football now because it's pretty clear than you have no idea what is going on.

It's being handled. Keep talking about the game, we'll take care of the rest.

Disappointing effort from the 'Skins today. A tale of two 1/2s. Certainly didn't put a 60 minute effort into this one.

Bitter taste in the mouth at the moment.

Bitter is right, I wouldn't be as mad if we just got beat outright. We gave them a win and a divisional win at that.

Good points. Right now, CP is playing good teammate and not publicly saying he should have been in the game but I know the competitor that he is, he's bubbling inside.

I don't see this "interchangeable" (as Gibbs calls CP and Betts) working after week four or five when CP has his legs and game shape back....

Smooth. Succinct. To the point. I give this post an 8.5. It would be higher, except he's from South London...
