Granted the D was tired, but they looked like they didn't even come back out on the field. The offense didn't give them any room, granted. I think the majority of us know that the second half, especially, is completely dependent on the other's performance. Regardless, the defense gave up how many unanswered points???!!?

As much as I hate to say it, but this horrible play calling and conservative offense is all Gibbs. He really needs to step back and let Saunders do what he does best.

I don't think Gibbs is calling the plays, but he is definitely dictating the scheme. Run, run, pass... punt. I'm getting real sick of that.

How many yards did the offense have prior to the attempted comeback? 30 or so yards? How many three and outs did we have?

The offense didn't help the D by not moving the ball but the D was pretty terrible on its own in the second half. The Giants came out on their first series in the second half and dominated our D and drove down the field for a td. Both sides of the ball played terribly in the second half.

I absolutely love Joe Gibbs for where he took this team his 1st time around, but I seriously believe the game has passed him by. The only thing he's accomplished this time around is building a team that makes all the other NFC East teams look like superbowl caliber teams.

All I can really say this evening is im disapointed in the second half effort, didnt really look like a team moving forward, hopefully during the bye week the club can, address some of todays problems and come back and extend Detroit's winless draught in DC to I think 19 in a row.

Too bad the coaching staff doesn't understand that.

Gibbs: Wow, we are up 14 points. Let's run down the clock. There's only two halves left!

The Riggins era is over and Gibbs hasn't realized it yet. And he won't. He's been great for what he's done, but NASCAR called and said they want him back. Let GW and AS do what they do and let Gibbs get back to racing.

I believe Saunders does but I think Gibbs is holding him back.

That season isn't over, but they seriously need to re-evaluate the scheme.

I just don't agree. This defense WILL NOT shut any team out. But what they will do is keep is in the game. This IMO has been a chronic issue for this team. This offense puts up 2 points in a game and everyone expects the defense to hold the opposing team to 1 point.

Let's put the onus on the offense and ask them to score a respectable number of points. When the defense gives you 3 turnovers thats 21 points, thats in ADDITION to your regular possessions.

How many points did we have? How many points did the offense score off of defensive turnovers and how many off of their own accord?

The offense is the problem.

I don't get that about Gibbs. Why has he become so conservative on offense? He wasn't like that when he was coaching SB teams. In fact, the '83 Skins held the record for most points scored during a single season for years. He needs to go back to coaching that way.

Every season this team just builds you up to just let you down. Every game has to be close and its geting ridiculous. This team is way to conservative and we are never going to be a dominate team until we get away from that. How this team can not get one yard on 4 tries is beyond me. This one hurts especially going into a bye. Now I get to watch sunday night football and have to watch the highlights. Play calling and clock management again was atrocious, WTF. Garbage Divisional opponet at home and we lose. When is this team going to pay off

Oh I agree with you that the offense not scoring is a huge problem. But we cant overlook the fact that during the third quarter we couldn't even slow down the Giants on D. They carved up our defense drive after drive. The D is better than last year but it def isn't as good as everyone was making it out to be prior to the start of the season. The dline is a continuing problem as they can't get any pressure and even a qb like Eli is going to be effective when he gets this much time to throw the ball.

The offense, more than focus on scoring, needs to focus on EFFICIENCY. If the O converts and stays on the field, the defense will maintain. The offense fails, and teh defense self-destructs due to fatigue. Or you could take the Colts approach and jsut blow 'em out of the water, which I personally vote for. We have the tools, just need the calls.

Either way, status quo is not gonna cut it.

I agree. If you look back at the SB winning Skins, they rarely scored less than 30 points per game. If we had that offense with this defense, we'd still be winning SB's.

For all those hating on Andre Carter....

set the record straight....

4 Solo Tackles

1 Sack

1 Forced Fumble....

The ENTIRE D did great...Except for a few plays in the 2nd half...

THIS loss is on the offense!

Guys, let's not go off of the deep end. The season is far from over. But our coaches do need to realize that their current conservative game plan has not and will not be effective.

Al's offense works in 2007, Gibbs doesn't. Sorry. The mix that they had works when a healthy oline is out there but it's not. We need to get the ball in the air.

Sally Sunshine says:

Even though the Redskins gagged this game away...

If the Bears beat the Cowboys, the Redskins are still tied for the division lead.

And remember...

Our two favorite teams are:

The Washington Redskins...

And whoever's playing the Cowboys!

So GO CHICAGO!
