So let's see here...
A chance to END the Giants' season, go to 3-0, at worst tied for the division lead pending the Cowboys/Bears, going into the bye week, and a sorry Detroit team coming to Washington next...
Up 17-3 at the half...
Winning the turnover margin...
All facets of the game producing positive plays...
Facing a quarterback that wouldn't be in the NFL if he didn't have the same last name as his father and big brother...
And NONE of that seems to matter in the second half.
The whole team went to hell in the last thirty minutes. Coaching, offense and defense. Were it not for the special teams guys, there wouldn't be anything positive at all about the result of this one.
And just like many times before, they tease tease tease tease tease us with the possibility of salvaging it right at the end...
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...
They fall short by the most infuriatingly slim margin possible. Again.
So, another golden chance...lost. That's Redskin football for the past decade or so.
Third down conversions will demoralize and defeat anyone, and the Redskins allowed the Giants to have them in bunches. Combine that with a few penalties at CATASTROPHIC TIMES, while producing exactly JACK SQUAT on offense in the second half until literally the last minute, and...
It's going to be a LONG bye week.
Can we play the Lions RIGHT NOW? They're still nearby if their plane hasn't taken off from Philadelphia.

I agree. JC was the least of our problems today. He missed a few passes but that happens with every qb. He also had some drops from his receivers. The oline couldn't block anybody and the play calling didn't allow JC to do very much. I think this game also highlighted the problems that we have at wr. ARE is solid but his more of a #3 receiver than a #2.

To those of you who are saying it's just one game, I'll say this; the Skins have that ugly look about them again. That look they have every year when they suck. When they start playing like they did in the 2nd half something happens to them to where they can't get their mojo back. They have that look again and I think this is going to be another long season. Maybe it's time for JG to move on.

Carter is NOT an every down DE... I said it in the other thread and I say it here.... He's a PASS RUSHER... even the commentators noticed that they RAN OVER Carter...

If it wasn't official before, Brandon Lloyd's tenure as a Redskins is pretty much over.
Moss gets hurt at the end and he still can't get into the game. I was hoping to see him trot onto the field.

ey, he's stuck blocking on the right side of the line...

Run until the run quits working, then play-action to the successful side. Bootleg. Use our strengths, and JC's legs are one of our strengths. Roll-outs and bootlegs SHOULD be in our gameplan.
Defense... where to begin??!!?? I can't even BEGIN to understand what happened after halftime, but it CANNOT happen again. If it happens, we LOSE, no question.
AGREED!

That sorry Detroit team scored 21 points and had over 300 yards passing today against the Eagles, even though they lost badly. If the Redskins play like this against Detroit that loss will make this game look like nothing.

I think it's pretty easy to see.......there hasn't been a legit offense on the field in 4 years. Time is up. The Al Saunders experiment is a bust, and maybe Gibbs too. I'm sick of hearing "It was an extremely hard faught game, and our guys were fighting their guts out". How many G%^ times can you say nothing?
The defense today did an amazing job, especially considering that they spent the entire 2nd half on the field.
Play calling is absolutely horrible. Clock management has once again proven to be too much for this allstar coaching staff???
You have a Giant's defense that have been killed in the secondary and we run, run, run.
If I were Snyder, I think G. Williams would be putting together a coaching staff real soon.

Please.

How many yards did the offense have prior to the attempted comeback? 30 or so yards? How many three and outs did we have?
How many interceptions did we have today? 2. Didn't we get a fumble also? We didn't even score off of Seans interception.
Everything leads back to the offense. Dropped passes, no rushing yards, dinking and dunking. Maybe Joe thought Mark Brunell was at helm.

Enough with bashing Al. The calls weren't that bad. The execution was what we lacked. Period!
We should have won but because of our lack of execution we didn't DESERVE to win!
2-1......
Better than I thought we would start!
See ya after the bye week!

Yeah he did an awesome job of stopping Strahaney isn't a blocking tight end so I don't understand why he gets criticized for not being able to block a very good DE. People were complaining about his inability to block Porter during the Dolphins game too. But blocking isn't what he does best. It's a waste of his talent to have to use him to pass block but with this oline we don't have much of a choice.
He was the only person!! Wade didn't even hit strahan, it was ridiculous to think

Exactly. The Gnats were giving up 40 points per game. The Redskins scored 14. 26 points short with 3 turnovers to work with.
