stop the hatin on winslow!

Post by skins#1fan »

Look the way I see it is this. The guy had a bad ending to a game and says something to the camera man and now he is some crazy guy with a bad attitude. I have said it before and will say it again, I think its funny when the skins loose I dont see to many players with fire in there eyes after the game or during the next game. Also I think shockey has the most cocky attitude in football but he definitely wooped up on us and other teams got them out of many many third and 5s or 7s. I personally think winslow will be a better pass catching tighend than shockey. Having someone at tight end that can do that will put us over the top. Yeh yeh I know we already have some tight ends. Well byron chamberlin is over weight and royal cant catch. We need Winslow and I think were gonna get him!

Why would we draft Winslow that high when Gibbs doesn't use an offense with a dominant pass catching tight end and we have numerous holes on defense that needs filling??? Drafting Kellen that high just does not make sense!!!

well I dont see us gettin a d lineman with the 5th overall pick either. They would trade down because there are still gonna be top d line in the first round. I mean there are like 4 or 5 solid d lineman. Wilfork, udeeze, smith, tommie harris

You are correct in that we will not draft a defensive lineman with the fifth overall pick in the draft. Trading down accomplishes both needs...get dlineman and more draft picks!!

We need Winslow. If we don't trade down. We better not get Sean Taylor. Our safeties aren't all that bad. Our TE position is pretty bad. Royal and Chamberlain backing up Rasby makes me very nervous. If Vinny and Danny can find a good blocking TE later in the draft then thats great. We can trade down and pick up some good D lineman. Besides TE and D-line I don't think this team needs anything else. At least not in the first few rounds.

I know that Coach Gibbs doesn't use TE's to catch the ball much. I know...They block, but who else can we get to back up Rasby. Don't you all remember? He was hurt during Spurriers first year. He wasn't hurt throughout the whole year, but he did miss some games. Unless your comfortable with Chamberlain or Royal playing back up then we need another TE.

We will get a TE later in the draft, we need to focus on DEFENSE with our first round pick wherever that pick ends up being.

Totally agree! The offense is fine. You can not have superstars at every position. Defense is what needs attention. I don't want this team to look like the '04 version of the Chiefs.

I totally agree. Just because he was that upset adter the game, does not mean he has bad character. Personally I kind of iked it. To know that after every single lost game, there is someone in that locker room, who will light a figher in our stomachs every single game, is exciting. Last year LaVar was the only guy who really did that. If he had someone with him, who was that mad after every loss, players who were that lazy that they could noteven work hard under Gibbs would be scared into working hard. (I know I would!)

And also, it might just be that Miami Swagger. Every player who graduates from there has a certain swagger, that they are the best at their position. An d they usually end up being close to the top. Ray Lewis, Jeremy Shockey, (and even though I couldnt stand him) Michael Irvin. Hurricanes just end up being great pros.

And talent wise he might be the best player in the draft. He has the athleticism of a speed, hands, and Athleticism of a WR and the blocking skills , strength and body of a tight End. This kid has all the intangibles.

And not to mention that greatness runs through his bloodlines. His dad is in theb hall of fame. Not to menton that Joe Gibbs was offensive coordinator to his dad, in San Diego.

He could put up numbers to match his talents too. In Gibbs' system he could play H-Back and he could get about 60 catches a year

Just sit back and imagine this offense.

QB: Brunell, or Ramsey,
RB: Portis
WR:Coles, Gardner (and McCants Thrash and Jacobs regularly)
TE:Winslow
LT: Samuels
LG: Fiore
C: Raymer
RG:Thomas
RT:Jansen

Throw that in with the offensive genius of Gibbs and Bugel and you have got an offense that can put up 30 on any body. including that other team that plays in MD,

Not to mention that we do not need Taylor bad. Bowen and Ohalete are both decent.

Our tight Ends our horrible. One is fat(Chamberlin). One cant stay healthy (Royal) One cant catch(Rasby) and two just have not showed anything(Ware, Stephens)

Well then either Dockery or Kenyatta Jones can take his spot. We are still good.

My thing against getting Winslow is that we can get a good TE with our 5th or 6th round pick why not use the #5 on our defense which has many need areas.

Not really. We could not get a TE of his talents. The only needs we have on Defense is D line and maybe MLB. Mitchell might be able ti do the job.

As you already pointed out our offense is gonna be awesome. We have pro bowlers at every skill position. We don't need our TE to be Tony G. he is either gonna be a blocker or wide open in the back of the endzone.

I like Winslow a lot. However, with his father charging agents money to interview him and then Winslow picking the Postons as his agents (even after asking the Skins who they should pick) you've got to wonder where his mind really is. Sounds like a guy who loves the game, but loves the green more.

Not hating just keeping with the theme...one player is not bigger then the team (Champ). Why draft winslow if we can trade down and get a DT and a TE say Troupe or Waston.

I see what your saying. But lets face it our Tight Ends are horrible. Every team in the NFC East has a good tight end except for us. We need an H-Back anyway, why not get an excellent one in the 1st round instead of an OK one in the 5th or 6th.

Right now at saftey we are not in bad shape. We have Ohalete and Bowen who were both solid. And we have Franz and Lott two solid young backups.

I just cant see taking a player (even though he is a beast) who we do not have an immediate ned for.

HoooooRaaaaahhhhhh!! Bingo! We need more on defense. Although Winslow would be a nice addition, we dont have Carolinas' line. We need a D-linemen.

Winslow has signed with the Poston brothers and what that tells me is that he is all about the money. He will/would be a holdout, if we were to sign him. He hasn't played one game and is already after the money! Don't you pro Winslow fans get it?

Yes, this is quite true. Speaking of arrogant/cocky Hurricanes that end up being great pros, what does Clinton Portis think about us acquiring Winslow? Did they ever play together? Just wondering. :-k
