McNabb in CHI next year

Again listening to to any sports radio I can i get PHI channel and they got people talking about this... McNabb going to CHI next year... what you think

You need to get Sirius, they have an NFL station. Sure, they spend way too much time going down on the Cowboys and talking about how much better the AFC is than the NFC, but it's still better than local philly stations, I'm sure.

I think McNabb is from CHI and sports radio guys are on drugs and, therefore, 2+2 = 5.

Why would McNubb want to leave Philly? The fans have been so understanding.
The coach's family is such a prime example of a clean, upright, fully functional existence. And the owner is so forthcoming about his position on McNubb. Why would anyone want to go play for a team with a top 5 defense in a city that appreciates good football and hats on their current starter?

I think this may happen. This will be a huge mistake on the Eagles part though. Then the Eagles will be doomed to more years of losing, if they dare let go of Donovan.

I stand by my earlier prediction of McNabb going to the Vikings. That will reunite him with his old offensive coordinator. Plus MN neds a QB bad. they tried to make Jackson into McNabb and it didn't work. They will go for the real thing in the off season.

OK, I am gonna rewrite this equation. Rex + CHI offense = SPEW.

I have always backed Rex in the belief that he would eventually be good but the potential just ain't blossoming. In fact, it is withering. If I have t hear Lovie give one more press conference where he says "Rex is our QB" I'll scream. Which, I guess, is how y'all felt last year with Brunell. What is it with these #8s?

Why not? I see nothing wrong with a love / hat relationship. I love to hat him. Only Fios will not be hatted, not even straw hatted.

You might be on to something there - Kyle 'Sn'orton is our #3 and we had Chris Leak as #4 in the preseason.

They wont trade for Mcnabb unless these 2 things happen.

1)Mcnabb has an bad year with Philly and Philly knows he won't bring them some where.

2)Brian Grease isnt the answer at QB

He isn't. Not long-term anyway. Not sure Orton is either. I kinda wish we had gotten Patrick Ramsay a couple of years back - I'd liked to have seen what he could have done in CHI.

To be fair to Rex (did I just type that?) the Oline has sucked, the receivers have sucked, the game-calling has sucked and Cedric Benson is a BIG GIRL. Rex did suck too though.

I can't do another "hat" routine...not even a Mexican hat dance since I banged my foot, but......Eagles management is not foolish enough to let McNabb leave, and almost no team has the money to sign a primero sombrero like DMcN.

Besides, Eagles are the team that gave up on Sonny. See Concrete Field annoptated list of players, where they say something like, "One of the worst trades in pro-football, swapping one of the best passers of all time, and if the Eagles do something like that again, we will burn the stadium down." :wink:

I don't know. Could the Bears be doomed to always have mediocre-to-horrible QB's? Is it the curse of 73-0? The-game-that-cannot-be-mentioned?

I started college in Chicago, and got to know the Bears pretty well. From Ed George to Bill Wade to Rudy Bukich (ex-Redskin 3rd striing) to Bobby Douglass. Have to pause over Douglass (and I haven't checked their roster/stats to make sure I've remembered the name, but:), who was a big QB who usually ran for more yards than he passed for. No, he was not a scrambler...he just dropped back, turned, and ran like a fullback. Jack Concannon. Virgil Carter. Gary Huff. I seem to remember a game when the crowd had been chanting "Huff! Huff! Huff!" until Douglass got hurt.

[Note to Bears fan: we cheered when Billy Kilmer got hurt so Old George Allen would be forced to play Sonny. I'm not taking unfair shots at Bears fans. We didn't realize how important Billy was until they Pardee/Beathard dumped him and handed the team to Joe T...who took a few bumpy seasons to settle in]

Huff trotted onto Soldier Field. The crowd went wild. He threw an interception on the first play. The crowd groaned.

After Huff, I remember Bob Avellini, a hard-thrower from the University of Maryland, but not quite an NFL starter.

Maybe I'm missing someone, but I can't remember a star-quality QB in Chicago, or even a very good one, and my memory goes back to the '56 season.

Maybe it's Slingin' Sammy's Curse???
