It's a night game so lets keep all game related post in this thread.

Here's a look at "Just the Stats" of both teams after 1 game.

Offensive Rankings … 26th in Scoring with 13 pts., 25th in Yards with 283, 23rd in Passing Yards with 180 and 18th in Rushing Yards with 103.
Defensive Rankings … 11th in Points Allowed giving up 16, 2nd in Yards Allowed with 215, 6th in Passing Yards Allowed with 169 and 1st against the run yielding 46 yards

Vs.

Offensive Rankings … 22nd in Scoring with 16 pts., 6th in Yards with 400, 18th in Passing Yards with 209 and 3rd in Rushing Yards with 191
Defensive Rankings … 6th in Points Allowed giving up 13, 7th in Yards Allowed with 273, 15th in Passing Yards Allowed with 207 and 4th against the run yielding 66 yards

In the Balance:

Philly’s defense was on the field for 28:12 in game one while the Redskins spent 30:22, Both teams held last weeks opponents to under 100 yards rushing (Phi 46 – Wash 66).

Quarterbacks

Donovan McNabb | #5 …
33 Attempts, 15 Completions, 184 yards, 45.5 Completion %, 5.6 Yards per Attempt, one Touchdown, one Interception and was sacked 4 times.

Jason Campbell | #17 …
21 Attempts, 12 Completions, 222 yards, 57.1 Completion %, 10.6 Yards per Attempt two Interceptions and was sacked twice.

In the Balance:

McNabb threw more 12 passes but only had 3 completions more than Campbell however one was for a score. Campbell had a higher completion percentage and threw for more yards per attempt but threw twice as many interceptions while throwing less passes. McNabb was sack twice as many times as Campbell.

Running Backs

Vs.

Brian Westbrook | #36 …
20 Rushes for 85 yards or 4.3 yards per carry average his longest run was 11 yards, Westbrook also had 6 catches for 48 yards or a 7.7 yards per catch average his longest reception was sixteen yards. McNabb was the teams’ second leading rusher with four attempts for nine yards.

Clinton Portis | #26 …
17 Rushes for 98 yards or a 5.8 yards per carry average his longest run was 19 yards, Clinton was not use in the Redskins passing game in week one. Betts was the teams second leading rusher with seventeen attempts for 59 yards.

In the Balance:

Portis averaged 1.5 more yards per attempts but that advantage drops to 0.7 yards per touch when you the backs use in the passing game of each team. Portis has a viable backup to spell him while Westbrook is also the leading receiver for the Eagles.

Wide Receivers

Jason Avant| #81 and Kevin Curtis | #80 combined for five catches and 107 yards they each had a catch for over 30 yard, Avant caught a TD

Santana Moss | #89 and Antwaan Randle El | #82 combined for eight catches and 190 yards, Randle El caught a Hail-Mary deflection to account for his longest reception of 54 yards and Moss longest was 16 yards.

In the Balance:

Not much coming out of the either group in week one, for different reasons. The Eagles primary receiver has been Westbrook for years (top pass catcher since 2003) and Washington doesn’t have a true #2 so Moss gets a lot of double teams.

Thanks for the stats. Looks close. If it wasn't for the INTs we would look way better.

I wouldn't mind seeing more production out of our wide recievers out there tonight. It will be a bit chilly in Philly, the last two nights have started to chill so we should be prepared, Biggest thing tonight is Jason Campbell can he protect the football and be accurate.

If McNabb is hindered in any way Philadelphia is a mediocre team. He is always basically what they've got. Even Westbrook depends on him. If he plays like last week we should win easily and I will be disappointed otherwise. I feel we should win this game.

Nothing against Daniels, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Evans and Wilson can do. I think Williams will try to get after #5 tonight and bring pressure from everywhere.

I'm predicting we won't get pressure on him without blitzing, which I don't think we will do because GW doesn't wan't to give up the big play. We will be in the cover 3 defense most of the night which leaves the underneath passing routes open which is what the Eagles love to do. I think we run the risk of getting Mcnabb into a rythm by letting him complete the short stuff, which is essentially their version of the west coast offense, they'd rather have the short passes than run the ball. I think getting pressure on him is HUGE in that he can't move as well as he is not fully recovered from his knee surgery. Hopefully we mix up the D a little and not sit back in the cover 3 the whole game. :wink:
