Suisham...is he the next Moseley, Lohmiller?
Too soon to tell, I know, but this kid shows promise. Moseley was great and so was Lohmiller. Let's hope Suisham does the same - he has big shoes to fill.......

C'mon Chris... give the man some props... Suisham (Swish'em) is NICE, and will get better. I mean he could have easily choked last Sunday from 40 out.
"It's almost like, you play a kid's game for a king's ransom," he said. "And if you don't take it serious enough, eventually one day you're going to say, 'Oh, I could have done this, I could have done that."

Give him some props? Didn't I do that in my 1st post?

He's a good kicker but some of you set your feelings up to get hurt cus you wanna live in the past. We have a great line but everyone wants them to be the hogs and they aren't. There won't be another group of Hogs or anyone else for that matter. 1 day we might have a better group than the hogs but it wasn't just their success that made them the "hogs" it was attributes unique to them that nobody else can replicate.
I'm just tired of hearing about the past. His Swishy, not Moseley. They both have 2 syllables, take that and be happy.

I know that Suisham is a solid kicker and a great guy. I got a chance to speak to him a couple of times again this week... very nice young man.
Hopefully you can check out his comments this afternoon or tomorrow in my podcast.

It may be a little premature to be calling him Chip Lohmiller, but one thing's for sure... we're solid at kicker for the first time in a while. That was a money kick last week.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

And why shouldn't we think about the past? We have superbowls, we have championships, we had the best offensive line in the history of football, we have hall of fame players, and we have had some very good kickers.......................with all of that HOW CAN YOU NOT THINK ABOUT THE PAST!??!?!
You're to negative Chris.......you need to think positive.

It would make sense to give the man more than a few games before we start nominating him the next Jan Stenerud. Opportunity will knock many more times. If he keeps answering the door that's all we can ask.
For anyone who's never attempted to kick field goals it's a hell of a lot more difficult than it looks. Missing the mark by 1 inch on the ball changes the direction of flight by 3 feet for every 10 yards the ball travels if there is no wind. It's not much of a wonder that kickers have no job security.
I have to agree with Chris on this one. The past is the past. it's ok to remember it fondly, but to compare every good player that comes along to someone of that era is not fair to either guy. Suisham is a good kicker. I love having a kicker that can kick field goals and drive the ball into the endzone on kickoffs. I'm not ready to say he is the next anybody. A kicker can totally lose it at any time. Just look at Vanderjerk.

Hey! I've kicked field goals before! I kicked what was an extra point! It was at the draft day party! It was pretty cool! I must say that I ended up shanking the 30 yarder one pretty badly......so I have to agree it is pretty hard, one lost split second of concentration is the difference for making it or screwing it all up! But it was still pretty cool!

Thank you, thank you for understanding.

I'm sure you had more than 1.8 seconds to kick the ball and probably didn't have anyone running at you full speed in the process. Those uprights start to get pretty narrow from 40 yards away.

You obviously understand my point. Easy is not a word anyone who's done it would use to describe kicking field goals.

Brutha. Those kicks at the draft day party were certainly not 30 yard kicks! Maybe 15 - 20 yards, max. I went 2-3 and I was pretty freakin' happy about it; however, it did make me appreciate more just how difficult it is to kick.

Our next DB won't be Green.
Jason is not Williams.
Portis is not Riggins.
There will never be another set of Hogs.
It's not the 80's, it's almost 2008.
Swishy is a good kicker and that's all there is too it.
You said it all. He just needs to be Suisham.

You might be right, but it did look like 30 yards when I kicked it.............It felt like it to!
