Top ten celebration and Woodson gives Monk props

Post by skinsfan#33 »

Tonight on NFL Access they ran down the top ten TD celebrations of all time. #1 was simply Barry handing the ball back to the refs, but the "Fun Bunch" came in at #3.

Rod Woodson made comments about Chad Johnson's HoF TD celebration against the Ravens. He thought that it was mocking the HoF a little (which I have no problem with) and followed it up by saying "he isn't a HoF receiver yet. If Art Monk is not in, then he (Johnson) certainly isn't one!"

Rod tends to give Art his props every chance he get. Funny the best CB in the past 20 years, who played against Monk is continuously saying Art belong in the HoF.

Unfortunately, most former NFL players don't receive HOF election ballots. Maybe if someone would get Peter King laid (No Small Task), Art Monk would get rightfully elected to the Hall.

That's great that Sanders' "celebration" hit #1. Handing the ball back to the ref has always been my favorite celebration to see. . .

It's true, and just about every former player and coach agrees with that assessment. Unfortunately, the real power behind the vote is with columnists, and trying to convince them that Art Monk was what all of his stats, records, game tapes, former team mates, coaches, opponents, fans, opposing fans, and off-field accomplishments say he was. . .well. . .I guess we can safely say that getting reality into the head of a sports columnist is never easy. :|

Actually King changed his mind a couple of years ago and now thinks Art should be enshrined. It is the others that need some companionship... :D

Which raises that immortal ethical dilemma: Would you prostitute yourself if it meant Monk getting in the Hall?
I might.

I might. What does she look like? :P

Seriously, the voting needs to go back to the players and the coaches. The media knows about as much about who deserves HOF honors as most NFL fans do, which is nothing. We at TheHogs.Net just happen to be more educated than most NFL fans. (See ExtremeSkins, WPForums, most NFL team message boards).

He learned that move from Riggins! They probably just didn't want Redskins to own two of the top three celebrations of all time.

I know he "said" that, but when push came to shove did he actually vote for him!

I doubt it.

I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

I suggest you go back , and review the "excuses" King used over the years to not vote for Monk. As his boy Irvin came up for a vote, King realized that Monk still owned Irvin... if he didn't reverse his stand on his reasons for not voting in Monk, he couldn't vote for Irvin.

That is the ONLY reason he changed. I bet you Irvin got his vote, and Monk did not.

King is still a useless bag of used pork parts.

we have had a few players who when they retired finished their respective careers as the all time leaders at their position and 2 of them are in the HoF.. makes you wonder why not Monk(damn sportswriters)

Charlie Taylor led just about every receiving catogery when he stepped down

Art Monk the same

Sammy Baugh owned just about every passing record if not all of them when he retired..

are there any other teams that have had that many players retire in that manner

I have to say Icky Woods shuffle was pretty good as well.

I hate to say Deion Sanders dance is pretty nice as well. T.O. on the star was classic though.
