Been here before, haven't we Chris? Funny how garbage turned into a fixture who left a gaping hole we were fortunate to fill. A few DBs are able to get off a block and he's garbage. This is simply going too far. He's probably overpaid now. 2 years ago we could have signed him long term cheaply. Do you honestly think the coaches thought he was garbage 2 years ago ... or last year? Kinda smelled all this coming when I posted.

Info and Joe Bugel from an article 2 years ago (actually Feb. 2006):

Left guard Derrick Dockery started all 16 games, plus both playoff games, last year. He has now started 47 consecutive games at left guard and has shown steady improvement each year he has been in the NFL.

Assistant head coach-offense Joe Bugel has often called Dockery the lineman with the most potential--and it appears the 6-6, 345-pounder is realizing that potential.

"Dock's a different man now," Bugel said. "He plays at a very high level now. He has bought into everything and he's playing explosively. At 345 pounds, you need to knock people around."

Well there's one guy whose opinion I value who doen't call him garbage. Maybe Buges was just trying to be nice.

Me: 2 years ago he was blocking playoff opponents in a playoff win. We ran the ball pretty well that year too. I remember him pulling a lot. Runs very well for a big guy. Oh, but a DB does not take him on linebacker style and was able to not let Dock have a clean shot so he "sucks" or is "garbage." C'mon dude.

I guarantee the day before we got Kendall many of us were extremely concerned about left guard and would have liked to have had Dockery still there - not for mega millions of course.

maybe we need the mega millions to keep Samuels... We miss Dock, definitely, but we were very very fortunate to fill the hole with Kendall. They looked good in the 4th and OT. I just hope noone goes down this monday night.

How exactly do you quantify your Jansen opinion? I see you throw some elite names out of now and prior, which anyone with any NFL following can do. The beauty of opinions is that everyone has 'em, even coaches. Regardless of the opinions that people like you and I make, the coaches are the ones that matter. You can say he's garbage or you can say he's lost a step, but with your opinion and a quarter, you STILL can't buy a cup of coffee anywhere that I know of.....

Can't keep everyone, Dock was our weakest linemen so he had to go. Your right, he was decent in 2005. 06 was his best year. 04 and prior he was mediocre at best.

Not to get too far off the path here , but the skins announced much earlier in the week who our starting tackle would be. I expected them to hold that info til the last possible minute. I mean , it certainly would change the gameplan for the Eagles defense and it was plausible the rookie could have started (I knew better though). Why not let the eagles plan to tee up the rookie all week, only to let them find out late that Wade was gonna start? Has coach Joe lost a little of his ol trickery? Is the dressed roster the same deadline for a monday night game? I personally would have flooded the media with every indication the rookie was gonna go until I had to tell the truth. I feel ok with Wade there though, lets face it Javon Kearse isnt Jason Taylor (at least not anymore)

It looks to me like Kendall may be a better guard than Dock by the end of the season. Ever consider it may have been Samuels and Rabach that made him look so good? Limited practice time and no play time, they could have ran the left side all day Sunday, Id love to see 3 Pro-bowl lineman from the skins this year and so far it looks possible (notice I said possible)

I do like Kendall, tough and a quick learner.
