Looks like all the mocks out there have Tommy Harris or Sean Taylor at #5.
I think we could trade down and get Harris, Wilfork, or Starks...PLUS extra picks.
There is NO reason to take a DT at #5 when other teams would be willing to trade up to get a top WR or QB.
I would like to see the Skins take Winslow at #5, we could have a TE in the likes of Gonzalez/Heap for years to come! Just what Joe needs.
Taylor too would be worth the #5.
I do not see the Skins having this high of a pick for a looooong time (lets hope so)....so while we do have a high pick we should make it worthwhile and get a future superstar...since we will be getting the last pick in the 1st round (SuperBowl Champ's pick) for the next 3 years.
OTHERWISE, trade down and stock up on picks
(D-Line)

#5 is at least 5 spots too high for Harris - maybe more. It is possible that Taylor could slide - only because of the various needs of the teams at the top of the Draft and teams trying to trade up to get a WR, Gallery or one of the QB's. The same can be said for Winslow. I'd buy Taylor at 5th overall - but not Harris - not a chance... well I'd give pretty good odds :0)

Hey 666,
What do you think of Tommys 40 time?
OVERVIEW
Highly regarded athlete who has garnered national honors since joining the Sooners' program as a freshman … Quiet leader by example who has a blue-collar work-ethic, but a blue-chip resume … Recorded 94 tackles (49 solos) with nine sacks for minus-47 yards, 33 stops for losses of 96 yards, 49 quarterback pressures, four pass deflections, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble while starting 37 of 38 games during his Oklahoma career.
ANALYSIS
Positives: Stout athlete with a thick chest, muscular arms and strong legs … Shows above-average explosion off the snap, possessing exceptional lateral agility to knife down the line … Very agile for a player his size, showing a great motor and valid upper-body strength to defeat combo blocks … Has a quick first step that allows him to penetrate the line and has a knack for picking up the quarterback's cadence (very good at drawing offensive linemen offsides) … Uses his strength and speed to fill the rush lanes and push the lead blockers back through the holes … Has the instincts to diagnose schemes up front and will react instantly when redirecting … Has a punishing rip move to grab and knock down pass protectors … Can uncoil and wrap with force when stalking the ball carrier … Has the balance and lateral agility to get around the trash, showing an explosive closing burst to get to the play … Uses a strong hand jolt to rock blockers back on their heels to defeat pass schemes on routes to the quarterback … Blue collar-type who may not have heavy statistics, but that is because he will constantly see double-team coverage (this allows other defenders to be free to make the tackle).
Negatives: Despite his speed and lateral agility, he may not be suited to play defensive end (lacks ideal bulk for tackle in a 4-3 alignment, but could be a Richard Seymour-type end in a 3-4 system), as he tends to over-pursue (needs to learn how to harness his speed) … Has a strong burst, but keeps his feet a little too narrow to get a firm footing when trying to change direction … Needs to add at least 20 more pounds to his frame to stand up to the punishment given out by the 325-plus pound blockers in the pro ranks … Can close on the ball in a hurry, but is not always quick to locate the plays when pursuing from the backside.
AGILITY TESTS
4.68 in the 40-yard dash … 470-pound bench press … 600-pound squat … 350-pound hang clean … 32-inch arm length … 9 ?-inch hands. HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Ellison (Killeen, Texas) High, playing football for coach Jim Skinner … PrepStar Dream Team member, adding Tom Lemming's Super Team and SuperPrep's National Top 100 honors … All-America choice by PrepStar, Max Emfinger National Top 125, FoxSports.com National Top 100 and first-team All-America by USA Today … Credited with 70 solo tackles and nine sacks as a senior … Had 139 tackles (81 solos) and five sacks entering his senior year … Started three seasons on the gridiron (has started at defensive tackle since he was in fourth grade) … Selected to play in the SchoolSports.com inaugural National High School Football All-Star Game with fellow OU signee Brent Rawls … Also attended the Nike Camp where he was honored as the MVP.
PERSONAL
University Studies major … Cousin of former Oklahoma Sooner and present Detroit Lions offensive guard Stockar McDougle and former Miami Hurricane and present Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jerome McDougle … Son of Janie and Tommie Harris, Sr. … Resides in Killeen, Texas.

Unless we get a really good trade down offer, like I'm thinking jumping back no further than the 12th or 13th pick, and whoever throwing in a 2nd or early 3rd rounder.... we need to take Taylor if he's there at number 5....
Harris,Udeze,Wilfork,Smith, & Starks have been jumping up and down draft/ranking boards on ESPN,CBSSportsline,FOXSports,The Sporting News,Nickelodeon,Sports Illustrated,etc...etc... for months now... none of them have come out and said this is the number 1 D-Lineman everyone should take.... basically there all the same... they all are good and have the potential to be Great....
Well, I don't really want another Bobby Wilson, Kenard Lang, Dan Wilkinson, or Sean Gilbert used on a first round Draft pick.... ESPECIALLY when there's not a clear cut D-Lineman out there who we know can do the job....
Plus Taylor has been a top 6 or 7 pick all along and alot of the critics say he's the best Denfensive player in the draft... He would help shore up our secondary.
Miami is one of the best Football school's and they do nothing but pump out NFL stars.... Lewis,Sapp,Armstead, Reed,A.Johnson,Portis,Shockey,E.James, etc...etc...
Yes, our line isn't what we would all like it to be but, you've got to say it's a big improvement from last year!?!?
Plus we got a genius as our D Coach in Greg Williams...and they won't be on the field as long as they where last year because we got a Super Genius for a head coach running the offense...
I'd rather get a playmaker in Taylor than a good potentially great D-Lineman just because we need one......

Tracy
I think we have a runnstopper in Griffin, we need a pass rush from the middle to help those DE out who ever they are.

Exactly...A DT that runs a 4.6!!!!How can you pass that up??
I like Taylor but I am starting to change my mind. Who knows we might have a younger faster Sapp on our hands, if we were to draft Harris

Well, if Taylor isn't there.... which would really suck in my opinion... well then we gotta trade down, because none of the D-Lineman are worth a number 5 pick IMO.... Hopefully if Taylor is gone then that means Roethlisberger is still there because i think that's the only guy that someone might consider giving us a good pick for... maybe the Steelers at number 11, the Bills at 13, or at worst the 49ers at 16.... we sould still be able to grab a good lineman... I'd take Udeze or Harris (i rate them the same) with Wilfork just behind them.... but we better get a good 2nd or 3rd in return.
