Redskin's Draft Board

Post by Uncle Buck »

I've been reading these boards for a while, now it's time to join in.
Each Thursday afternoon, Warner Hessler of The Daily Press newspaper appears on a local sports talk radio station. The topics usually involve the Redskins since that is his beat. Today he talked about the Skin's draft plans. He said they currently have three players on their board in the following order: 1. Sean Taylor, 2. Tommie Harris and 3. Kellen Winslow Jr. He also talked of a rumored trade with Cleveland. The Skins would trade their #5 1st round pick to the Browns for their #7 1st roun pick and their third round pick. The feeling is Taylor or Harris will still be available at #7. The Browns want Winslow and are afraid the Lions will grab him at #6. All just rumors but Hessler is usually pretty good with his information.

That would be a nice trade if there is any truth to it.

If we could trade down and still get Taylor at 7 (or Udeze) than I'm all for it.

man - I hope he's wrong about Harris - we had enough problems plugging the line last year...

I could live with that trade but I agree with Rich that Harris may not be the ansewer, hopefully Taylor will still be there.

I was in D.C. last week at a Forensic conference and was talking to a OK alumni and booster who know Harris. Couldn't stop talking about what a great player/person he is. I can live with Harris, he can play either DT/DE

I wish Harris well, and if he's a Skin in the future - I won't be crying. But I'm higher on Wilfork as a DT. All-in-all, the Browns trade is rampant rumor. I saw one that hat the Browns moving up to take Gallery/ trading the CArdss for the 3rd overall for the 7th plus a second... Not sure I'd buy Taylor falling far enough to get him at #7 - but it could happen. It's sounds familiar - Champ slid down quite a bit too.

We should look to get Wilfork first to play DT cause he could plug up the line. Then if we could somehow get Harris I would play him as DE. He is light enough and strong enough, but I dont know if he is quick enough. Still Wilfork first.
