Vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato, along with the Redskins' coaches and scouts, oversaw a workout for nearly 50 college prospects and NFL Draft hopefuls on Friday afternoon at Redskins Park.

Most of the players were from regional colleges—including 14 from the University of Maryland—but some came from as far away as North Carolina and Massachusetts.

Two of the more notable names in attendance were a pair of former Maryland standouts in running back Bruce Perry and quarterback Scott McBrien.

Perry was a standout running back in 2001 for Maryland, rushing for 1,242 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has battled through injuries the last two seasons. Last year, he was second on the team with 646 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He is a 1999 graduate of George Washington High School in Philadelphia.

McBrien started 13 games at quarterback for Maryland last season and was second in the ACC and 25th nationally with a passing efficiency rating of 142.7. He completed 173-of-314 passes for 2,672 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. He is a 2000 graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md.

Howard University had five players in attendance and Georgetown had four. Some of the other colleges represented were Delaware, Virginia Union, West Virginia, Delaware State, Temple and Richmond.

Bennett was solid this year for UD not sure he's a NFL back tough.

This has Jafar Williams listed as a Safety. Madieu Williams was the safety (and a pretty good one too). Jafar was a wideout. Wonder if the story is inaccurate or Jafar is converting.
