Aqua, I'm not going to sling mud with you but, you keep referring to last years 31st ranking of our defense. Have you seen any of our defense this year? much improved unit, probably top 7 or 8 in the league. The fact is we had so many injury issues last year and our offense struggled so badly we couldnt keep the D off of the field. They always started the game strong but were gassed at the end. There were times that when they came back out to start the next series, you could see them still breathing hard from the previous one. This wont be an issue this year. Do yourself a favor and go see if you can find some video clips of our starting D in pre-season. It should cause you more concern, thus making the game more interesting to watch.

I just don't see the moves and differences that take you from 31st to 7th. You guys were last in sacks and takeaways also so where are the big plays going to come from this year.

1st off an improved secondary helps with sacks .. this is what we like to call coverage sacks .. and with Taylor now playing his natural postion FS.. and Landry in the box .. on top off a healthy Springs and an improved Rogers( dedicated himself this offseason.. worked with Prime Time and Green) and the depth we have with Smoot and Macklin as our Nickel and Dime corners you will see alot more pressure applied by the Linebackers and front line.. we will no longer have to sit back in a cover 2 or a base D just to combate for the poor seconday.. improved secondary gives the LB's more freedom
2nd off we got younger on the D Line .. adding speed in Wilson and Alexander and good run stuffing capabilitie in Montgomery.. teamed with Griffin w/ Goldston rotating in will help us stay fresh and solid against a weak oline
lastly we will also be using Washington in 3rd down situations on the dline as a pass rush specialist which you will have to account for leaving you open to a saferty blitzes and all other forms of pressure packages.. ( ask Collins about Landrys ability to get in the backfield and blast QBs.)

Dude you no nothing about football.Redskins first off has better LB core than the Dolphins i mean Marcus washington? Flecther?Rocky Mcintosh?Godfrey?.Than you keep bringing up last year"Let me remind you 5-11"Shut up are DL wasn't healthy and again didn't have secondry. Why do you think in pre-season(Might not matter)With all the real starters who played shut down the Steelers and Titans run and didn't allow a TD? we didn't even start Griffin and hes a big key bigger than holiday.Redskins added Speed ? and a good covering Depth in the secondary and the DL is now healthy and with Andre Carter now getting much better and even tackeling is good ,is a big key also.I mean are you guys going to score 14 points? no you guys don't even have a OL thats why well shut that run to only 10 yards and thats the truth.CanesSkins26 wrote:You guys are going to have to hold us under 17 to win.
Shouldn't be too hard. No way you guys score more than 10 points. I lived in Miami for the past 3 years so I saw my fair share of Dolphins games and your offense is garbage. Ronnie Brown is a nice back but your oline is probably one of the worst in the NFL. All you hear on sports radio down in Miami is how bad the offensive line is. Your receivers are unproven and inconsistent and you grossly overreached with the Ginn Jr. draft choice. You lost McMicheal, only to replace him with two mediocre guys in Martin and Peelle. Throw into that mix an aging qb who is one hit away from his career being over and who couldn't beat out Damon Huard, and you have one hell of a mess on offense. Your defense is still good but it's nowhere near good enough to compensate for your crappy offense. Nick Saban took one look at the Dolphins' mess and he hightailed it back to the college ranks. Living in Miami I've met plenty of rationale, knowledgeable, and intelligent Dolphins fans. Unfortunately you're lacking in all of those areas.

.... with a new quarterback, new scheme, and uncertain situation in the backfield, the Dolphins are a notch below the Redskins offensively. In a hostile environment, that will ultimately be enough to get them beat.
What say you now Aquaman?
And please, how in your wildest dreams do you really believe that Ronnie Brown will get 150 yards against the Skins? This is not last year's D that your unsettled O will be facing.

IMO i think JC is going to have a hell of a game .I think Portis would have maybe 100 yards ,and I see the skins from shutting down the run to only less than 20 yards.SCSkinsFan wrote:.... with a new quarterback, new scheme, and uncertain situation in the backfield, the Dolphins are a notch below the Redskins offensively. What's your guys' injury status?
Are Portis and Campbell going to be out there? I know Campbell is playing tonight but is that really a good idea? What about Chris Samuels?
Hopefully both teams are healthy and we get a great game! Good luck in 2007 Skins fans.
Your D only and i mean only has a DL with 2 good LB's.You guys have no CB's or Safety's once so ever and that would allow skins playmakers like Portis-Cooley-Moss or even Randle el to make big plays.Hell well even run the ball with CP and Betts and i think CP would have 100 yards with 1 TD my prediction is that. Not to mention you guys have no O besides Chambers and a pretty good RB who has a bad OL .Not only that but with an old ass weak arm like Green would not allow you to trow long and have pure speed in the redskins D.The Skins might not make enough pressure but with that DL we can at least shut down that run, and make some pressure by Carter and Griffin.
I mean come on do you guys really stand a chance? JC is a much better QB at this point than Green.
And I'd put it like this, you're wrong.
Our DL is solid Matt Roth taking over at DE he has been AWESOME this pre-season. He's the reason Carter became expendable. Vonnie Holliday was awesome in the 3-4 last year sacking the QB 7 times, he's very good too. Keith Traylor is a beast, just a huge hole clogging machine.
2 good line backers? No! We have the best line backing crew in the NFL, bar none. Jason Taylor and Joey Porter on the edges makes the best pass rush in the game. I know Taylor is a DE/OLB hybrid but we play a lot more 3-4 then 4-3. Thomas is awesome, gets to the ball and makes plays. Channing Crowder is atheltic and hammers people.
Our front 7 is great, and while our secondary could use some work, it's not that bad. Yeremiah Bell was awesome in his 9 starts last year. He's a ball hawk and really lays the wood. Renaldo Hill played solid last year, not great just solid. If Travis Daniels can return to his '05 form after his injury, we have decent corners with Daniels and Allen.
Our defense is awesome, if you guys score as much as some of you guys have been saying. (I've seen tons of people predicting 27) I will buy Portis, Campebll,ey, Moss, Randel El and Betts jerseys if you guys put up 27. Hell, if you put up 21 I'll buy a Campbell jersey, it's not going to happen. You guys are going to have to hold us under 17 to win.
You guys won't shut down our run. Your run defense is better with London Fletcher but is still horrible. Ronnie is going to wear you down all day.
We have a great chance. You are nuts for thinking this game is a lock for the Skins. Need I remind you that you guys were 5-11 last year?
You know your arguments are completely worthless when you use the names Channing Crowder, Yeremiah Bell, Renaldo Hill, and a guy names Daniels coming off of injury. The best LB corp in the NFL ?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.
hold on im not done laughing....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, man when is your show coming to town, I gotta go see it youre hilarious!

Ok last year we were 31st. The year before that we were 3-5 in overall defense. So we went from a top five defense to 31st last season. Us being Redskins fans with the addtions we made feel we can go back to a top five defense.
Most of last season we had numerous injuries. Cornelius Griffin our starting DT, Marcus Washington our strong side linebacker, Shawn Springs our starting Corner also two rookies at DT.
Fast forward to now 2007 we drafted quite possibly the best defensive player in Laron Landry a stand out at LSU, put him along side Sean Taylor now that is a safety tandem you must admit.
OUr linebacker corps London Fletcher a proven Middle linebacker, Marcus Washington has been stellar and will continue to be, now the only question mark here for the league is Rocky Mcintosh. The league does not know much about him but we Redskin faithfull know what he can do. Mcintosh comes from Miami one of the top tier colleges he led his team in tackles while in college. He is 6-2 230lbs runs a 4.4 forty , is a bit undersized but makes up for that is speed, quickness and agility. HIs coverage skills and blitzing ability is what makes him good.
Our Dline. Now this is not a Pro Bowl Dline. MOst of our line was injuried last year namely Cornelius Griffin. With him back and healthy he will anchor a young DT group. Our DE well Carter came on late last year and should benefit from his experience going into his second year. The other DEnd Phillip Daniels well he is no pass rushing machine but can provide run support.
So doubt the Skins all you want. Just remember yes we were 31st in the league last year, but we were also top five the year before. So really you know our team is on the climb to success.
I will say that Ronnie Brown is a bright young star ready to breakout. The Oline is still question marks simply because I dont know who is on your OLine. Chris Chambers is a good reciever. Also Ted Ginn Jr. is a deep threat despite what some say here and I know because I watched him practice at OSU. Your Defense well the front seven are very good. The secondary is where I believe your weaknesses lye. I dont know about the corners you have nor the safeties. The one stud you have in the secondary is young the other player out of LSU.
ALso Trent Green is no savior nor the next coming of Dan Marino.
So my breakdown is this.
What I predict is Miami will stack the box with 7or 8 to try and stop our running game. They will also have a safety help double cover Santana Moss. This will leave one on one coverage for Chris

That brings us to your Dline vs our Oline. This here is a wash in my opinion. Last year we yielded only 19sacks which was a league low. So your Dline vs our Oline will be even. The battle of Our recievers vs your secondary is where the game will be won. That is if you can stop our running game though.
My prediction Redskins 35- Dolphins 14.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

This will leave one on one coverage for Chrisey, B. Lloyd and Antwan Randle El. THis is where the game will be won. I think no one in the league can match Antwan step for step. Chris
ey is tackle breaking machine. Lloyd can catch the ball as long as its going his way.
27-6 is soild and i say Moss has a TD.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

I didn't think you would show. Good game dude. Thanks for proving me wrong.

I didn't expect him back either, but a two line congratulations, while still not conceding we are the better team, doesn't suffice to make me think he is anything but a troll. If he comes back and talks about the game, I'll respect him, but I'm not holding out hope. The score should not have been nearly as close as it was.
