A lot of what this guy has said in here is pretty reasonable IMO.
We went 5-11 last year and our defense was terrible. So why would an outside fan who doesn't follow our team any more than we follow his, expect us to be "amazing" on defense or to blowout anyone?
The Dolphins do have a good defense but I think that the Redskins have the better offense and that the home field advantage will be the difference in a close game.
I'm calling for Redskins 13 Dolphins 10.

Lets get back to subject guys.
I say we win it 27-10 ,I fell that are D would perform real good epically if they don't have a good OL and a old QB is a problem. They have only one real WR treat and thats Chris Chambers. Not even that WR they drafted is starting for them and the O would be shut down for the Dolphins and it would be a long day.I say the Skins would play Redskins football by giving the ball alot to Portis and Betts to tire out and find holes from the OL.JC is also looking better and if we can hold up are OL and no pressure than we would usally trow long to Santana Moss who is going up against a CB he always smokes, and not to mention
ey and randle el.

The Skins are primed for a great season in Gibbs 4th year back with a young QB coming into his own, two premiere backs, one of the best tight ends in the league entering his prime, average receivers and a great defense. The Dolphins have a new coach, new QB who is 107 years old, an old defense, etc. There is simply no chance the Dolphins come into our house and beat us. Not one little, itty-bitty chance.
A coach that built one of the leauge's best offenses the past few years, a proven QB, a GREAT defense (I don't give a how old they are, they're great.)
You failed to mention the Skins inconsistant below average receievers, 31st ranked defense from a year ago and the fact Campbell is still unproven. Is the sky burgandy and gold in your world or what?
The Skins are going to be like 5-11 or 6-10 this year. To say the Dolphins have no chance is a bit of a stretch.
Yeah, that genious that made a team with the best running back in the NFL (maybe NFL history), the best TE in football, a great Defense, and a very good young QB. That is so hard to get the forth ranked Offense in the league with those "problems". Now if he brought LT, Gates, the Cahrgers O-line and Rivers with him I might be worried about them.
As far as the Skin going 5-11 this year, they could very easily have more than 5 wins by the mid-season. LOOK AT OUR SCHEDULE!
You never did address the fact that Trent might not be any better than Harrington was last year. What is it with the Dolphins. They get a QB playing well at the end of the season and then kick him to the curb. You did it in 2005 when you won the last 6 games in a row under Frerotte and did it again last year with Harrington. Your team won 5 out of 6 in one stretch under him. He wasn't great and neither was Frerotte, but your team started playing well with them at the helm.

I put it like this .Aqua4Ever04 wrote:What's up guys? I'm back because opening day is just 9 days away and I am thrilled for some football. Just wanted to stir the pot and get the discussion going again. Let's talk a little opening day football shall we?
What's your guys' injury status?
Are Portis and Campbell going to be out there? I know Campbell is playing tonight but is that really a good idea? What about Chris Samuels?
Hopefully both teams are healthy and we get a great game! Good luck in 2007 Skins fans.
Your D only and i mean only has a DL with 2 good LB's.You guys have no CB's or Safety's once so ever and that would allow skins playmakers like Portis-Cooley-Moss or even Randle el to make big plays.Hell well even run the ball with CP and Betts and i think CP would have 100 yards with 1 TD my prediction is that. Not to mention you guys have no O besides Chambers and a pretty good RB who has a bad OL .Not only that but with an old ass weak arm like Green would not allow you to trow long and have pure speed in the redskins D.The Skins might not make enough pressure but with that DL we can at least shut down that run, and make some pressure by Carter and Griffin.
I mean come on do you guys really stand a chance? JC is a much better QB at this point than Green.

And I'd put it like this, you're wrong.
Our DL is solid Matt Roth taking over at DE he has been AWESOME this pre-season. He's the reason Carter became expendable. Vonnie Holliday was awesome in the 3-4 last year sacking the QB 7 times, he's very good too. Keith Traylor is a beast, just a huge hole clogging machine.
2 good line backers? No! We have the best line backing crew in the NFL, bar none. Jason Taylor and Joey Porter on the edges makes the best pass rush in the game. I know Taylor is a DE/OLB hybrid but we play a lot more 3-4 then 4-3. Thomas is awesome, gets to the ball and makes plays. Channing Crowder is atheltic and hammers people.
Our front 7 is great, and while our secondary could use some work, it's not that bad. Yeremiah Bell was awesome in his 9 starts last year. He's a ball hawk and really lays the wood. Renaldo Hill played solid last year, not great just solid. If Travis Daniels can return to his '05 form after his injury, we have decent corners with Daniels and Allen.
Our defense is awesome, if you guys score as much as some of you guys have been saying. (I've seen tons of people predicting 27) I will buy Portis, Campebll,

You guys won't shut down our run. Your run defense is better with London Fletcher but is still horrible. Ronnie is going to wear you down all day.
We have a great chance. You are nuts for thinking this game is a lock for the Skins. Need I remind you that you guys were 5-11 last year?

You guys are going to have to hold us under 17 to win.
Shouldn't be too hard. No way you guys score more than 10 points. I lived in Miami for the past 3 years so I saw my fair share of Dolphins games and your offense is garbage. Ronnie Brown is a nice back but your oline is probably one of the worst in the NFL. All you hear on sports radio down in Miami is how bad the offensive line is. Your receivers are unproven and inconsistent and you grossly overreached with the Ginn Jr. draft choice. You lost McMicheal, only to replace him with two mediocre guys in Martin and Peelle. Throw into that mix an aging qb who is one hit away from his career being over and who couldn't beat out Damon Huard, and you have one hell of a mess on offense. Your defense is still good but it's nowhere near good enough to compensate for your crappy offense. Nick Saban took one look at the Dolphins' mess and he hightailed it back to the college ranks. Living in Miami I've met plenty of rationale, knowledgeable, and intelligent Dolphins fans. Unfortunately you're lacking in all of those areas.

Because they have Trent Green at QB for one, and because we can run on anyone in the league for another. This guy has been making personal attacks basically since the thread was started, and furthermore he has nothing to support any of his ridiculous claims.

Hmm... San Diego's offense, or Washingtons???
Hmm.. more proven, Campbell or Green???
Great defense in Washington? Let me guess, those 16 games where you guys ranked 31st was a fluke, right?
Yes, it was a fluke.

yes, but they don't have testicles
Are you sure? They might drop down like with a bird. I'm so glad the bird keep it on the inside, and Dolphins too. They'd lose a lot of their charm if it was an external device.

Good one
Well I should have clarified that statement.
A lot of what he said football wise was pretty reasonable...at least early on in the thread.
Sometimes we all have to step back and try to look at our team from the perspective of someone who isn't a shameless homer for them (which I always have been and always will be) and from an outsider's perspective why would anyone think the Redskins will be good?
I guarantee you that every opposing fan looks at their team's schedule and thinks they have a good chance at a W when they see Washington on there. We just need to go out there and prove people wrong.

Considering we will be having Dolphin for lunch at 1:00 on Sunday........
We need to ask ST after the game if Dolphin tastes like chicken.

You might want to wait until later in the day on Sunday before having Dolphin. I'm pretty sure they won't quite be done at 1 on Saturday
