MICHIGAN UPSET
AMAZING. Greatest game I've ever watched. Very disappointing, but Appalachian State proved they belong.

I thought it was kind of funny. I bet Jansen was crying Saturday afternoon.
You know Matt Stevens has made a few calls to some old friends.

I just wish upsets like this would happen more often.
Michigan even playing Appalachian State is one of the reasons I haven't watched a college game since I was in college (and that was more because it was a great reason to drink at 9am than for the game itself).
This may have been a great game, but there is no reason why a D1 school should be playing a AA school in a game that counts towards a bowl bid. I think that non-conference games should be scheduled by the NCAA and not by the schools themselves. That might make college football a little more interesting for me at any rate.

Michigan last week: #5, this week, unranked. The Terps get all their JuCo basketball players from App State. Maybe they should look at getting some football players there, too.

1-AA Appalachian State actually blocked the last 2 field goals. Even as a life long Wolverine fan and alum I can't say I was too sad because they DESERVED to lose. When they were lining up and it appeared a gimme field goal all I could think of was how unfair they were going to win in such a fluke ending after getting their tails kicked all day.
I may not have enjoyed it, but it was justice. As would firing Carr have been after the game, and I'm not one who's been calling for that.
Hail to the Redskins!

I hate Mich. I loved the ending of that game. The Looserines can't even state that we were tired from the trip. Because they were the Home team. Haw!Haw!Haw!Haw!Haw!Haw!

It's the price we pay for having the most wins and highest winning percentage in college football history and 11 National Championships. We deserved to lose anyway. This is clearly a bigger deal to our jealous foes then us. Nebraska, FSU, UF, Miami, all have had down years. Big deal. Enjoy in the small window you have.

Also true (the biggest upset part, not the sweet part).
When we lined up to kick the field goal at the end of the game all I could think how unjust it was that it appeared we were going to steal a game we didn't deserve to win. I can't say I was happy it was blocked, but they totally deserved it. No sour grapes from me.
But in the end it's like the Skins, "they" only enjoy those losses so much because of how much we've won. No matter how much you hate say the Saints, could you really do a jig after they suffer a big upset? I mean who cares? I'll take the many great moments for the occasional bad ones.
Hail to the Redskins!

HOnestly Appalachian state is an excellent team. I bet they would whop Notre Dame and many other D1 schools.
I am not dissapointed that Michigan lost to App St., what is dissapointing is how they came out against Oregon. Man I really think that Chad Henne showed a lack of character, I honestly think he is faking his injury. Positive note Hart is still a stud at RB.

I think it's great that Mallett is starting though, get the freshman some experience since we're obviously not good this year. The Oregon effort was pathetic, except Hart. The guy is amazing.
It's time for Carr to hang it up though. He won a National Championship and a bunch of Big Ten titles. I wish him well and congratulate him for his accomplishments. The USC game was the worst of this stretch, not App State. The USC players said they'd been prepped well for the exact, simple gameplan Carr would play. It sure looked that way in the game. Carr just isn't an elite coach anymore, the college game has gotten more sophisticated, at least for the elite teams and he is not moving Michigan ahead.
