NFL suspends Patriots' Harrison for first four games
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The NFL on Friday suspended New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league policy on performance enhancing substances.
Harrison spoke with reporters on a hastily announced conference call Friday evening, an hour before the league officially suspended him without pay.
"Tomorrow, the commissioner will announce that I've been suspended," a somber Harrison said.
Although the hard-hitting safety said he has never used steroids, "I did admit to the commissioner that I did, in fact, use a banned substance."
"My purpose was never to gain a competitive edge," he added. "Rather, my use was to accelerate the process of recovering from injuries."
Harrison's suspension begins immediately. He is eligible to return to the Patriots' active roster on Oct. 2, following the team's Monday night game against Cincinnati.
The suspension was first reported by ESPN.com, which said Harrison admitted to federal investigators that he obtained human growth hormone. Harrison did not take questions about the details of the suspension.
How long will it take to catch TO. They made such a big deal about how Bonds looked in 93 as compared to 03. Look at TO in 98 as compared to now. This could now run rampant across the NFL, except for the fact they still have no reliable test for HGH so unless you are careless you are home free.
They may be getting close, they caught TtiT's QB coach during the same investigation.
New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison and Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Wade Wilsonhave both admitted to league officials that they received illegal performance-enhancing drugs as part of an Internet drug scam, the Daily News has learned.
Wilson will serve a 5 game suspension

Rodney Harrison was obviously trying to extend his playing career ala Barry Bonds. He is a cheater.
Wade Wilson took a banned product last fall while serving as the Chicago Bears quarterbacks coach to help reduce his complications with diabetes, a disease he has lived with for more than 20 years. That has what to do with the NFL?? Or the Cowboys for that matter?? I'm not on board with taking an illegal substance, but, this matter shouldn't be under the juristiction of the NFL commisioner and in the hands of law enforcement as it has nothing to with the play on the field.
is anyone really surprised by harrison? im not, id say well more than half of the guys in the leauge look like they are on HGH or some other performance enhancer.
if these guys didnt use they would be snapped in half after three hits. i say let em all use. its not like baseball, THIS IS WAR!!!!!
