Some avatar news

Post by admin »

Well, obviously some of you will have already have noticed that I got most of the avatars back... I'd say all of them, but I know that I have missed a few.

So first off... if there is anyone that HAD an avatar before the board lost them all, and you have not ALREADY got it back, then please post in this thread so that I know.

Secondly, I added/deleted/modified a bunch of generic avatars that are available to everyone. There should now be a 'jersey number' type avatar for just about every current Redskin. I added another avatar subcategory for THN oriented avatars and we will add a couple more there over the next week or so.

Thirdly, I will announce the new avatar requirements some time in the future. Chances are that we are going to set the requirements high initially as we have a big back log... but as we catch up, we may drop the avatar qualifications a little.

So, if you're going to be in the running for a custom avatar, start thinking about what you want, start gathering up some photos if you're so inclined, and NC and I will come up with a methodology next week for banging some of these off in the offseason.

Thanks.

Don't know what you're talking about.

:-)

Anyone else that I have not restored an existing avatar?

We'll make an announcement on the new requirements for avatars early next week... along with a methodology for getting a new one if you qualify.

Thanks.

Got mine. Thanks, Mark.

Though, since I'm no longer a prosecutor and I'm now a defense attorney, I'm not entirely sure that the words "The incarcerator" should go next to my name any more.

Perhaps "In Search for Justice" or something like that?

Either way, thanks for giving the Avatar back!

What about someone being in jail? That's not appropriate either, scrap the whole deal...

Instead, you ought to have a smiling Sean Taylor (finding a picture of this will be extremely difficult, and may take some skillful photoshopping) leaving a prison cell.

That'd work, eh?

Nah. I like that Cowboy in jail thing. I can just be a defense attorney that didn't represent him, and laughing at him through the window saying, 'You should have hired me, you poor bastard!"

Send a PM to NC43Hog, and give him ideas of what you were thinking about for an avatar (or, if you have a graphic, send it to him).

Good luck, I'm looking forward to what comes out of it.

Just remember to be a bit patient, as both Boss and NC43Hog are busy with avatars not-so-high on the priority list. It's definitely worth the wait, though.

Uhhh... I don't think we're planning on doing any right now.

We hadn't asked anyone what they want because we don't have time to do anything about it, sorry.

We will post a notice when we are ready to add some new avatars. Thanks.

No problem at all, mates! I most certainly can appreciate all the time and effort you guys put forth here, just so a dip like me can have a place to come and hang out. So I'm not worried about it at all; I know you guys have a life and better things to do with your free time. Heck, I didn't even know what an avatar was before I came here!

Anyway, thanks for the consideration and thanks for all the hard work. This Bud's for you!

Cheers!

Umm, ok, so the fool that I am never thought to look in or around this area with regards to my avatar. I guess mine was one of the "lost" avatars, and never made it back up (partially because I had been more of a lurker here for a lot of last year). Anyway, is there any way to get mine back up? Or do I have to wait for you guys to say when?

I'm pretty sure I still have the graphics in my system, if they need to be re-sent. Thanks.

You silly kids with your dreams of avatars. They don't exist. They are figments of your imagination, albeit ones you can get screen grabs of ... but that doesn't make them real.

Just curious.....
