Correct, it was not the first pick alone that has made us back into 1st-tier potential.

You have no pass rush, and will have a hell of a time stopping the run this year. Yeah Fletcher-Baker is a nice player but it'll take more than just him to stop the run.

Okay, so how about Rocky McIntosh and a new strong safety who is known for big hits? A new MLB, outside LB, and strong safety are all something to consider.

Consider also that we have a DT returning who was injured most of the year, and our young talent at DT is developing.

Finally, look at the rushing stats from preseason. Has any team done jack against our D?

The safties are good, but corners are not, so your secondary is just above average.

You're not in a great position to say this, since our secondary went through somewhat of an overhaul this offseason. Besides, they aren't facing any real challenges in week one, so I'm not worried.

Yeah, I agree, the Skins have improved. But improving from a 5-11 record isn't always a good thing. How do you say I'm in no position when the Skins were even worse than the Fins last year? You act like the Redskins were a playoff team. Well, they picked 6th in the draft last year man.

And Aqua4ever... we have a rule against flaming threads... we're all for good dialog with the opposition's fans but just coming to our house and trying to sling mud isn't going to fly here.

As for the post, obviously you haven't done any more than look at a few stats from last year to base your opinion on... cool... we're counting on a lot of teams having that same ignorant mentality.

Obviously you bailed on the last thread that you were getting stapled to the floor with here, and around these parts... we call that a troll.

And we don't feed trolls here, do we gang?

I don't want to talk smack but it seems that's the direction most of your boys want to go.

Yeah, I'm ignorant. Like I said in an earlier post, you guys were FIVE AND ELEVEN! You're not a good team, quit acting like the Fins are a walk through for you.

Is it gameday yet? I hope your players look past us like your teams fans are! It would be an ABSOLUTE ASS WHIPPING!!!

No, I'm smart enough to realize my team was 6-10 last year. I know no game is easy. You guys, on the other hand, seem to forget that.

If Miami gives up 27 points to the Redskins, I'll buy Campbell, Portis, Moss, Randel El, Betts and Cooley jerseys and wear them on Sundays rather than my Chambers, Brown and Marino jerseys.

I see it as a good thing we open with a sub 500 Dolphin team with many starter issues, including QB. All teams have question marks going into game 1, but one of ours is NOT our defense. I see a long day for Trent Green, and if we just get a "little" offense, that will be more than enough to put the Dolphins away....

Quality of team huh? Yeah, the NFC sure is supperior to the AFC huh? The JV conference can't carry the AFC's jock, you know that.

The NFC East is now, and has historically been, the toughest division in the NFL. Just because the AFC has won a few recent SBs, does not make them the dominant conference. Think of it this way, in college ball, the SEC is by far the conference with the most good teams. Does every national champion come from the SEC? No, those teams beat each other every year and play spoiler to the other conference teams. To win the national title out of the SEC, your team has to be truly spectacular. Same with the NFC East; the competition is so tough, that only the best teams can advance to the playoffs. The current Patriots are the only AFC team that might be able to hack it in the smash-mouth NFC East. The Fish would be perennial cellar dwellers.

you know the 75th Anniversary jerseys are available now.

I try to be nice to visitors. It's always good to hear from fans from other teams, but this guy is a homer that can't see that his offense absolutely sucks. Even if our defense played like last year I think they should be able to shut down that offense. Trent Green is one hit away from being Jello.

I see Miami as a good opening day test. They're a good enough team (good defense, decent running game, possibly some talent at WR) that a win against them is respectable, but they're also flawed enough (aging QB, weak line, new coach) that, if our guys come out focused and ready to go, the game should definitely be a win.

And regarding the NFC East, 3 of the 4 teams in that division made the playoffs last year. What other division can say that? Teams like Seattle and Chicago get to pad their records with a few cupcake games every year, but for the 'skins, every division game is vs. a playoff team. The 'fins would get pounded annually in this division.

I'm feeling a strange urge to offer a personal guarantee that the Redskins will defeat the Dolphins on opening day. It might be close, because this is the Washington Redskins we're talking about, but victory is assured.

I hear you - last year's hognostications suggest I should keep my predictions to myself. I just think our team is ready to hit the ground running this time around - last season has left them all pretty angry.

The only thing I will Guarantee is that GW will bring a lot of heat on an aging QB new to a system with a suspect offensive line. Like I said earlier...Jello

ROTFALMAO

I was just watching some of the Dolphins / Saints game from Thursday night and the Dolphins local commentators are hilarious. They are talking about how the "BIG QUESTION IN WASHINGTON" is whether Campbell and Portis will be healthy enough to even play on opening day vs. the Dol's. They are also talking about how the Skins defense is suspect, based on last years results, and how the Dolphins offense will be able to move the ball at will against the Skins.

It would help if they watched some of our preseason games. That's why they're preseason announcers.

Unless some aberration occurs this week, we definetly are a better team than Miami. Home crowd, brutal defense and the highest paid coaches in the history of the NFL practically OBLIGATE us to win this game.

Many specialists have compared this years opener to last season`s Minnesota game. Here´s hoping they are wrong.

I see that the announcers are about as up-to-date on the team as the fans. :?

Here's a BIG ANSWER for their BIG QUESTION: Of course.

Did you guarantee victories in each of you 16 games last year? I hope you didn't bet large amounts of money on all the game.
