Back again Fins @ Skins
What's up guys? I'm back because opening day is just 9 days away and I am thrilled for some football. Just wanted to stir the pot and get the discussion going again. Let's talk a little opening day football shall we?
What's your guys' injury status?
Are Portis and Campbell going to be out there? I know Campbell is playing tonight but is that really a good idea? What about Chris Samuels?
Hopefully both teams are healthy and we get a great game! Good luck in 2007 Skins fans.

Bwuahaha...dude get ready for a blowout.
I approached my initial thread here the wrong way. I was brash and out of line. But posts like this are what will revert me to that old way.
I'll just say this. If you think Ginn is just going to be a punt returner and if you think the Skins will blow the Fins out. You have no clue what's going on in Miami.

Glad to hear. I like Jason Campbell a lot. He's going to be a special player IMO. He'll just have to wait till week 2.

I still think John Beck has the better career.

Yep, Campbell looked really good. I still think you guys should get rid of Portis and move forward with Betts. Portis is a bum IMO.
We're not in trouble. There is NO WAY the Skins blow us out. You have a chance to win, but you're not scoring 20 points on us and your defense is one of the worst in the NFL.
My prediction is 21-10 Dolphins. Miami defense forces 2 turnovers, 1 of which leads to a short field and easy Miami TD.

You just accused someone above of being ignorant of Miami, and yet now we see this.

Don't worry, our defense is looking amazing. For the first time in 3 years we have a true middle linebacker, and his 6th round rookie replacement led the NFL in tackles up through the 3rd week of preseason.

We Skins fans are really only worried about the offense, and Portis is the least of our concerns. He was just pulling an LT for the preseason; he'll be back strong and well rested.
This could be a blowout. The Skins will start '08 with a big bang. The only problem is that on THN we'll have people saying for the next week "but that was only Miami!"

Oh, and Taylor looks ready to pop someone for the first time in months.

Hmm.. I think you better worry about your defense. It did rank 31st last year and with that lone 1st day pick it didn't become upper echelon over night. You have no pass rush, and will have a hell of a time stopping the run this year. Yeah Fletcher-Baker is a nice player but it'll take more than just him to stop the run.
You may think your corners are good but eh, Springs is over rated and I haven't seen Carlos Rodgers do much in the NFL.
I'll give the skins their running backs and their OL, but no other unit worries me. The safties are good, but corners are not, so your secondary is just above average.

More of the same stunning analysis from you I see. People who do research into stats would probably point out that last year's defense was an aberration in Williams' career but then we'd have to wait for you to go look up aberration.

As much as I hate the Giants, Eagles and Cowgirls at least their fans know how to talk some smack and are true football fans. This Dolphin fan guy proves that the rest of the league cannot hold a candle to the NFC East either in quality of team, fan passion, or smack talkability.

Correct, it was not the first pick alone that has made us back into 1st-tier potential.

Okay, so how about Rocky McIntosh and a new strong safety who is known for big hits? A new MLB, outside LB, and strong safety are all something to consider.
Consider also that we have a DT returning who was injured most of the year, and our young talent at DT is developing.
Finally, look at the rushing stats from preseason. Has any team done jack against our D?
The safties are good, but corners are not, so your secondary is just above average.
You're not in a great position to say this, since our secondary went through somewhat of an overhaul this offseason. Besides, they aren't facing any real challenges in week one, so I'm not worried.

I'm sure there are knowledgeable Dolphins fans capable of having a reasonable discussion out there, this dude just ain't one of 'em.

Just don't forget to come back to these boards when the Dolphin's lose the game
Your defense better keep an eye on
ey because he seems to be Campbell's favorite target. I think your offense will be lucky to score 10pts. Our defense looks like it is going to shut some teams down this year.

Guys... let's keep these posts directed at the post and not the poster.
And Aqua4ever... we have a rule against flaming threads... we're all for good dialog with the opposition's fans but just coming to our house and trying to sling mud isn't going to fly here.
As for the post, obviously you haven't done any more than look at a few stats from last year to base your opinion on... cool... we're counting on a lot of teams having that same ignorant mentality.
Obviously you bailed on the last thread that you were getting stapled to the floor with here, and around these parts... we call that a troll.
And we don't feed trolls here, do we gang?

That is so beautiful. As BH already said, this is exactly the type of ignorance we are looking forward to this year.

If you talk to any Redskin fans, our defense this year is the least of our worries. As for our secondary, we are starting Springs, Rogers, Taylor and Landry; all top ten, first round draft picks. That group doesn't concern you? Great, just what we like to hear! But I'll bet if you spoke with Trent Green, he will be concerned with that group. Especially when Landry runs right through that weak o-line and plants him on his butt and gives him another concussion.
Williams placed total emphasis this year on the secondary and improving overall team speed. He has put together arguably the best and fastest secondary the Skins have ever had. We are deeper this year at the DB position than any other position on the entire team, save for our RB's. The fact that you fail to recognize that is just what Redskins fans and coaches are banking on. Good luck with that.

Quality of team huh? Yeah, the NFC sure is supperior to the AFC huh? The JV conference can't carry the AFC's jock, you know that.
